I like retro RPGs – especially rogue-likes – that don’t take a lot of time or brain power to play during a given session and this fits the bill nicely. I just played my first game and I enjoyed it, but I ran across some sticking points: movement isn’t too intuitive and you can’t move diagonally. Also, I understand the concept of rogue-like, but I think that health could drop from enemies a bit more. Having said that, though, I paid a bit to keep that 1st game going, so that says something…
This game is pretty awesome, one of the best F2P roguelikes out there. Simple, yet unique turn-based combat, buttloads of customisability through weapons, variety of difficulty levels, and a not-so-overbearing spin on RNG. Levels are somewhat predictable but they’re still randomly generated in terms of the tile placements. Boss fights and ambushes are challenging to maneuver around, but really rewarding. Highly recommend to anyone in need of a good offline game or roguelike who love a challenge.
Excellent roguelike, I wish I’d tried it out sooner. It’s true f2p with most classes unlockable without spending a dime as morale (freemium currency) is easily acquired. IAP’S are for extra morale and 1 class unlock (Alchemist) as there are many more unlockable classes using morale, I think that’s more than fair. Ranger & Wizard ftw!
really enjoy this rogue turn based rpg many interesting classes to choose and ways to level them up, never played the first but I do now, bosses and achievements are really tough but interesting, much too expensive to purchase premium goods to support game sorry!
I’ve tried many a-rogue-like mobile dungeon crawler games over the years and Cardinal Quest 2 is still my favourite quick pick up game. I can’t get past the second stage ever, but I always have a good time trying.
Love it. Probably the best totally f2p phone rts I’ve ever played. Character classes pay very different from each other, and randomized factors allow good replayability. Only complaint is maybe add a short tutorial or video, but for the most part it’s pretty intuitive.
A good rogue lite. A bit on the easy side, a bit simple compared to other rogue games, but the presentation is nice and there’s no shilling for money. Wish it was longer and more difficult. I like all the available classes.
Loved the first, second has good improvements The original cardinal quest was great, and this one seems to expand on it well. More characters and options. The game has a barely perceptible lag (GS5). It’s nothing major but a little bit more snappy action would add to the thrill.
Well I play this a lot on their site. Now on mobile. Too bad progress don’t carry over. IAP are offered but it is easy to grind for the currency. Sometimes the RNG feels rigged.
Nice and unique! Love it so far. Not too complicated. Great game, must try!
