It can manage simultaneous SSH sessions, create secure tunnels, and copy/paste between other applications.
This client allows you to connect to Secure Shell servers that typically run on UNIX-based servers.
ConnectBot user reviews :
Simple app that does everything it promises. Even “Ctrl” functions, which some complained about, worked flawlessly. The post-login automation is really useful. And the best part is that it’s a free app with no ads/in-app purchases. The only thing that could be added is support for landscape mode, for example when I want to view a database with multiple columns.
Very useful, works almost as described. Time since last use doesn’t work properly on latest version, a very minor inconvenience. The new copy-and-paste tool, while aspirational in design, does not work at all. The region definition cursors do not follow my touch (Samsung Galaxy 4, v4.4.4). Please fix this so I can rate five stars for what is otherwise a great app! Thank you!
Potentially the best app Google Play has seen. With a rating of 4.6/5 over 41000+ ratings it must be good. As a server admin I’ve used Putty for years and lives in my system32 folder. I must say, this is fabulous going mobile. I’m perfectionistic and one feature I’m missing is being able to locate RSA keys in folders other than the Android 6.0 downloads folder. Please also provide me with assisstance linking Puttygen RSA keys as it tells me its erroneous. Keep up the good work. Thumbs up.
Does what you expect andfits my needs for a console ssh client. One annoyance on the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet is that editing a host is not usable; the original configuration screen doesn’t show up and what does is utterly garbled. I ended up deleting my host configurations and recreating them.
App used to work well but progressively got worse. None of my servers display text correctly if at all when connected. *** EDIT *** Turns out that the settings where corrupted probably because a Google cloud backup restore of data from another device. Deleted app data, re-added hosts and I can now see text again. Would have been nice to be contacted by dev about the issue though
This is a WOW…free no ads working perfectly apps…And most of all it works great connecting via telnet. I used it with an Android phone and Bluetooth barcode scanner to replace big old symbol barcode scanner guns. This a great tool. Thanks so much to the developers. Cheers – Leandro
Lately I’ve been trying several SSH Android apps, and none of them were as good as this one. It has all the features needed, and it is as simple as one wants it to be. The only SSH app I’d recommend
This app does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Well at least for ssh, that’s all I use it for. There is one or two things I can think of that would make this app better. The special character tool bar covers the terminal prompt. I have auto hide on, but that isn’t useful while I’m using the bar. When you tap the screen to unhide the bar you could scroll back the terminal a few lines or leave a buffer between where the bar and prompt are. And then there is scrolling vs copy/paste. Dragging your finger up or down on an area containing no text should never trigger the copy/paste option. It should just scroll the screen. Period. Maybe adding a dedicated scroll bar would help, although just fixing the intended functionality would be preferable. Thank you for an otherwise very useful app. 5 stars when these issues are fixed.
