Framelapse user reviews :

Unfortunately regardless of the settings used in app, I keep receiving ‘Recording stopped too early’ and a crash to the home screen. I’ve tried messing with the frame intervals, video duration, using the wizard, etc. The blue progress bar along the bottom of the screen fills up but the recording does not end. Clicking on the red button to end the recording gives an error message; ‘Recording stopped too early’ and a crash to the home screen. Shame.

I liked some of the features, but the WB lock and exposure lock didn’t actually seem to lock it. I also wish there were manual settings for everything, including focus. When I recorded and sent the footage to my pc, the end of the video had frozen (though I’m uncertain if it was the app that caused that issue or something in transit, it’s worth noting). Overall, it gets the job done if you need something simple and functional, but isn’t smooth enough for something of consistently good quality.

  • Hi, the white balance and exposure is locked once the recording starts. We recommend playing around with the app a little bit to figure what works for you (depending on your scene). And things will fall in place right after that. Hope you enjoy your future framelapsing!

I just used this app on an old phone to record a snowstorm that blew through my area last week. Condensed 7 days down into 3 minutes of video. Pretty cool stuff. I’ve seen confusion as to whether it’s recording. It the button is red, it is recording. If it is white, that means it is not. Good idea to check in on your device every so often to make sure it’s recording. As far as I could tell, it was saving output files to /DCIM/Framelapse. It was easy enough to find. One thing I would really have liked to do was timestamps with each frame. I couldn’t find any options in the app for timestamps. Is this an option with the Premium version? While editing my video, I found myself getting lost with the days (I figured it out, though), and it would have been pretty cool if the app could have marked the time at which each individual frame was taken. Minor complaint that I’ll drop a star for, but other than that, I’ve had a splendid time using this app. I will probably end up using this app for my next road trip. Solid.

I don’t understand all the negative reviews. I downloaded yesterday and have been playing around with it to record a project and it works absolutely fine. I’m starting light by recording in 30min bursts which result in 30second output files. I’ll start increasing the length of time as I get comfortable with it. But so far it does exactly what I want. There are a lot of options to change settings and control camera and maybe that’s what’s throwing people.

  • Thank you very much for your 5-star review!
