Google Classroom – Easy for learners and instructors to connect

[App] Google Classroom

Google Classroom   Classroom is a free service for schools, non-profits, and anyone with a personal Google account.

Classroom makes it easy for learners and instructors to connect—inside and outside of schools. Classroom saves time and paper, and makes it easy to create classes, distribute assignments, communicate, and stay organized.

There are many benefits to using Classroom:

Easy to set up – Teachers can add students directly or share a code with their class to join. It takes just minutes to set up.
Saves time – The simple, paperless assignment workflow allows teachers to create, review and mark assignments quickly, all in one place.
Improves organization – Students can see all of their assignments on an assignments page, and all class materials (e.g., documents, photos, and videos) are automatically filed into folders in Google Drive.
Enhances communication – Classroom allows teachers to send announcements and start class discussions instantly. Students can share resources with each other or provide answers to questions on the stream.
Secure – Like the rest of Google Workspace for Education services, Classroom contains no ads, never uses your content or student data for advertising purposes.

I can only write from a student perspective. The app is great and very helpful. It’s a must have app for online classes. There’s still few bugs, for example, if the teacher gave me a document template, the changes I made in that document sometimes does not show. I had to download the template instead, edit the contents outside of the app and re-upload it to submit. But still, the app has been very useful and generous for its services. Thank you!

After the update, I think the app crashed when I try to open an attached video or mp4 format from my teachers. The same way when I try to upload videos and submit it, after I click on the video it shows nothing but the envelope and not showing anything. I tried clearing the caches, and the storage. And I already tried reinstalling the app, but nothing works. I am disappointed as for this moment.

  • Hi there. Have you tried to upload the file to Google Drive using a different network? Hope this helps.

It is a very useful app. Everything organized n all. Super fast with great outlook/appearance. However, all that’s missing is a search bar/option. I sometimes find it difficult to find specific deadlines which were posted earlier. A search bar would make it just perfect. Eagerly waiting for the update real soon.

Since the update, I guess, app crashes when I try to play video attached for the lessons. And 30 seconds of skipping backward and forward is too long. Take it back to just 5-10 seconds please. UPDATE: Recommendations did not solve the problem. Opening a file, especially a video, is slow to respond and sometimes the app freezes and I’m forced to close and reopen it. Still, I don’t like the 30-second skip, too long.

  • Hi again, Kevin. In that case, if it continues to occur after following the recommended steps, we suggest visiting our Help Center: goo.gle/2W67AQL or visit our Community Forum here: goo.gle/3wY3447.
Ever since the last update I am unable to access PDFs offline. Earlier I was able to open the PDFs in classroom offline, if I had opened it earlier once before and have not closed the app from the recent section button (the square button) . It saved a lot of time as I did not have to wait for it to load again and again. It would be great if it is possible to bring it back.

  • Hi there. Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We’re sorry to hear that. We’ll pass this along to the team so they can review and make the Classroom app even better. We ask that you submit a feedback within the Classroom app by clicking the Menu button then Send Google feedback. Thank you!

It’s been working so well since my online class began, but for some reason for the past few weeks, the notifications are not working. It doesn’t show in my notification bar, please fix this, sometimes i got late for updates because of this matter, everything is turned on and nothing is disabled in terms of notifications in the app neither on the phone. It seems that a lot of users are experiencing this from what i saw on YouTube comments of some tutorial on how to fix such issues.
