When installing IRS 2Go, you may see a list of Android permissions that the app requests. To help you understand why we ask for certain permissions, we’ve provided a breakdown of the usage.

Location – Uses the device’s location.
The app allows taxpayers to search for nearby Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) locations, which offer free tax help for taxpayers who qualify.

Phone – Uses one or more of: phone, call log.
The app allows users to make phone calls to the IRS or VITA/TCE locations.

Photos/Media/Files – Uses one or more of: files on the device, such as images, videos, or audio; the device’s external storage.
The Free Tax Help mapping feature uses these permissions to save map images and data to your phone’s storage. This means that your phone won’t need to download the same map data every time.

Does what it says and nothing else. Does not run in the background. Does not use data. I’ve left it installed since 2017 and it has not used data nor run in all that time and it is small. THIS is how simple single purpose apps should work. And stay. Simple. No bloat. No ads.

I redownload this app every year. It’s never failed me. Easy to use and navigate for the few times I use it to check the status of my return.

I’ve had this app for years now & it’s simple to use & does what it’s supposed to do!

Works perfectly and quickly…just like using the “Where’s My Refund?” on the IRS website. ..3 simple things to fill in…Social Security Number of primary filer, Filing Status, and exact amount of Federal refund from your tax return.

Works great for quickly checking refund status…. Only thing that could be changed is when typing in your social security number, the last group of numbers, the keyboard switches from numeric to alphanumeric

Easy & simple to use, fast results, the date it said I would get my tax return I did, very accurate so it gets 5 stars from me. I only have this app installed for each tax season but it’s 2018 now and this is another year this app has worked great for me.
