Kodi

[App] Kodi

KodiKodi ™ media center, formerly known as XBMC™ Media Center, is an award-winning free and open source cross-platform software media player and entertainment hub for digital media for HTPCs (Home theater PCs).

It uses a 10-foot user interface designed to be a media player for the living-room, using a remote control as the primary input device. Its graphical user interface (GUI) allows the user to easily browse and view videos, photos, podcasts, and music from a harddrive, optical disc, local network, and the internet using only a few buttons.

Confluence is the standard skin and is designed to be fast and user friendly.
With the skin re-Touched, Kodi™ has now been enhanced to better work with larger phones and tablets as well. Kodi is not currently recommended for use with smaller phones.

Kodi user reviews :

This is the beginning of a huge turning point for Media consumption on Android. As a long time supporter ($ contributor) to KODI and XBMC before it, this introduces the software to the masses and opens up customisation to an even wider audience! My recommendation is to try not to expect this to fulfil your preconceived ideas about whether this should be “Material” design etc. This software is designed to stand alone if necessary. Many will install only this on some TV-connected Android Devices and autostart KODI as it may be all they need. That we can have it on our phones and small tablets too is great too! However, think about changing skins to “Re-touched’ if you are looking for a touch experience in the interface. Brilliant! Thank you
