Do not update to 1.9, will cause firmware upgrade leading to unusable Lego Boost in Windows App. New version now cause Motor B to move when external motor is controlled, motor speed and position reporter will be disabled (29 June 2019). Celine, I updated two of my Lego Boost already.

This set is great! Our 11 year old son really enjoys it. Instructions are not included, but easily found through the user friendly app. Downloaded it to my Samsung S9, bluetooth hooks up well, works well together! Cool set good job Lego group!!! (My son wants me to quit writing this review and let him have my phone so he can play with the set again!)
