Loop Habit Tracker – Create and maintain long-term positive habits

[App] Loop Habit Tracker

Loop Habit Tracker  Loop Habit Tracker helps you create and maintain long-term positive habits in your life.

Detailed charts and statistics give you a clear picture of how your habits have improved over time. The app is completely ad-free, open source and it respects your privacy.

Beautiful, minimalistic and lightweight interface
Loop has an elegant and minimalistic interface that is very easy to use, even for first-time users. Highly optimized for speed, the app works well even on older phones.

Habit score
Loop has an advanced formula for calculating the strength of your habits. Every repetition makes your habit stronger and every missed day makes it weaker. A few missed days after a long streak, however, will not completely destroy your progress, unlike many other don’t-break-the-chain apps.

Flexible schedules
In addition to daily habits, Loop supports habits with more complex schedules, such as 3 times per week or every other day.

Reminders
Schedule notifications to remind you of your habits. Each habit can have its own reminder, at a chosen time of the day. Easily check or dismiss your habit directly from the notification.

Widgets
Be reminded of your habits whenever you unlock your phone. Colorful widgets allow you to track your habits directly from your home screen, without even opening the app.

Take control of your data
If you want to further analyze your data, or move it to another service, Loop allows you to export it to spreadsheets (CSV) or to a database file (SQLite). For power users, check marks can be added through task automation apps such as Tasker.

No limitations
Track as many habits as you wish. Loop imposes no artificial limits on how many habits you can have. All features are available to all users, and there are no in-app purchases.

Completely ad-free and open source
There are no advertisements, annoying notifications or intrusive permissions in this app, and there will never be. The app is completely open-source (GPLv3).

Works offline and respects your privacy
Loop doesn’t require an Internet connection or online account registration. Your confidential data is never sent to anyone. Neither the developers nor any third-parties have access to it.

Loop Habit Tracker user reviews :

Have used this daily for around two years now. It has been hugely transformative so far. Thoroughly recommend. It’s not a comprehensive productivity app in that it provides no tips on how to change, but if you have a list of action points, it has enough graphics to show your progress over weeks, months, quarter, year. The advantage of this is that if you have a bad day, or string of bad days, viewing it in the context of the week, or month, or quarter, will put that in context and keep you going

Like other users, i think this app is helpful. But there are also some features that are still lacking like adding notes to the habits. As example if I read books , i can note at the current day the name of the books that i read or the last pages that i have read. Giving 4 stars for the effort and will add another star if the developer can improve by hearing the user’s feedback .

I have now tried several similar apps. This one is clearly the best. Love the “instant feedback” you get, just by quickly glancing at the main screen. Also, if your day does not start and end at midnight, you can still enter your data until your personal day is done. Finally I love the “Press & Hold” design. This is not only fast, it eliminates mistakes. BY FAR, the best I’ve used… LOVE IT!!!

Love this, but… I keep finding myself uninstalling it in favor of Habit Now, simply because you don’t have a widget option to have all habits in one spot for checking off throughout the day. I don’t want to use up my screen space to add a separate widget for each habit I’m trying to track. If I’m missing something, please let me know. Otherwise, this simpler-is-better design is great.

Best habit tracker I’ve found. It’s simple, easy to use, lets you choose more than just a set day in the week, and it doesn’t cost money to have more than 5 habits (that I’ve noticed). It has a few widgets, but, I wish there was one widget that showed a list of all the habits with a check-off button next to each one for easy tracking. Right now, the only way to do that is to have several 1×1 widgets dedicated to a single habit.

Most effective tool for the job of evaluating your progress in any domain that involves repeated action or behavior. The interface is simple, elegant, and most importantly, stays out of your way and gives you all the good info you need neatly. I’ve been using it for years now, and other similar tools that I keep trying, shinier as they might be, just don’t appeal so much to me. Thanks to the developers, and keep this beautiful little piece of software alive!
