Mordheim – Hide in the shadows and wait for the right moment to strike

Mordheim – Warband Skirmish

Mordheim  Mordheim Legendary Game’s adaptation of Games Workshop’s classic table top game:

Mordheim, set in the Warhammer world. Control a small warband picking through the ruins of the City of Mordheim clashing with other scavenging warbands and collecting Wyrdstone – valuable shards from the comet that destroyed the city.

Multi player turn-based strategy right at your fingertips you’ll have the freedom to play how YOU want to play. Hide in the shadows and wait for the right moment to strike, get a vantage point and pick your targets off with ranged weapons, or bring the fight straight to your opponent in an up close and personal confrontation, the choice, is yours!

From release three mercenary factions are available: Reiklanders, Middenheimers and Marienburgers each with different traits and play styles. Each represents one of the factions pitted against each other in a brutal civil war over who should sit in the throne as Emperor. Can you harvest more Wyrdstone from Mordheim than your rivals to fuel your master’s war effort?

More factions will follow as DLC, including:

Skaven – Skulking sinister rat men who need Wyrdstone to thrive
Sisters of Sigmar – The only faction with remotely honourable intentions
Witch Hunters – Agents of the Grand Theogonist who will burn first and ask questions later
Cult of the Possessed – Men who have turned to the dark powers for salvation
Undead – Agents of the Vampire Counts, helping their bid to control the living

Key Features:
Tactical turn-based gameplay with incredible action sequences
Recruit, customise and train your Warband
A rich, powerful and immersive fantasy world
Multiplayer online – you will go up against other player made Warbands
Available for both iPhones and iPads!
Continuous planned updates, including extra content and map variations.
“Graphic novel” art style with a grim undertone perfectly setting the scene of the harrowing city of Mordheim

A word of advice to players:
We need to load other player’s warband data after the initial load so please make sure you are in a good WIFI environment the first time you play. Your device also needs to be properly logged in to google play . If the game ever hangs on load or you get a 505 error this is probably a log in failure, check that you are logged in properly by logging out and logging back in again.

The original table top version of Mordheim and the Warhammer Universe is brutal with permanent death and permanent injury. In every engagement one player will win and one will lose. It would not have been authentic to the license if this had not been the case. Be prepared for death, destruction and disability. You will need to dismiss warriors from your band that get too badly injured and sometimes disband a warband completely.
The post battle casualty effects and their chance of happening have been taken straight from Games Workshop’s table top game. We added the Fate System in for players that get really attached to their characters and can’t bear to see them die. You can also use Fate to hire special characters and buy DLC. For those that want a totally authentic Mordheim experience without spending a penny on fate, the DLC can be purchased directly.

Mordheim user reviews :

Gameplay is good, untill your characters die, then you have to use real money to revive them. That’s stupid. When you have wounded characters, you can watch ad’s to heal them, should be the same for the dead.

This is the best digital representation of the classic tabletop game! Extremely fun and engaging! Highly recommended!

I’m a long time fan of the Warhammer universe. It’s got It’s ups and downs. Ups- plays a lot like the table top game merged with the warhammer rpg. Downs- you have to buy fate points to keep your warband going or eventually you start from scratch because leaders and recruits die fairly frequently and fate points are the only thing to keep them alive when this happens. Lower injury and death rates to warband members and ability to earn fate points from battles would make this game 5 star.

Since my original review has either been erased/deleted/removed allow me to repost: At first glance I thought this was going to be a No-Frills Shameless MoneyGrab. In some ways it is, but such is the nature of most free Smartphone games. They at least give you the option to trickle premium currency if you’re diligent enough. The game is deeper than it looks & I feel does capture the theme of the source material. My best advice is read the wiki on how to roll a perfect henchman & clone it.

How are beginners suppose to progress? Second battle was against a full plate user with 5 members total… okay, so I wiped out. An ally perma dies, another robbed… next battle, lost because it’s 1v3… then the kicker, next battle another of my her is robbed. Seriously? What are beginner’s to do? There is no chance to make progress and every little progress is then robbed. I liked the game, but I think the gameplay was based too much on you (the company) being greedy.

  • Sounds like your warband had a bad day. The casualty effects and their chance of happening have been taken straight from Games Workshop’s table top game. You need to be prepared for death, destruction and disability. It is part of the story, dismiss broken warriors and sometimes disband a warband completely The Fate System is only an option.
Long time Mordheim fan, and this scratches the itch for me. I played a great deal of the tabletop with friends growing up and passed many lovely nights at Mordheim. When the City of the Damned PC released into early access, I was playing it on the literal first day. Now I’m glad to see this come around on mobile, and a closer interpretation of the tabletop than is CotD. Many hours of fun ahead for longtime and new fans alike!!
