The App transforms any smartphone into a healthier digital experience.
Batch notifications, calm your home screen, create distance between distracting apps and more in order to prevent unconscious use and live a life of deeper focus, presence and human connection.
Inspired and endorsed by The Center for Humane Technology, Siempo is both the protective gear needed to navigate our attention-grabbing digital world, and the friendly mentor to help build better tech habits.
Notification Tempo – Get notifications batched at set intervals. On the half hour, top of the hour, or once a day like the mail.
Enlightened Home Screen – Siempo replaces the stock Android home screen with a calmer, less distracting interface. More of a zen garden than a Times Square.
Intention Setting – From the home screen you can personalize a message you will see every time you unlock your phone. What would be skillful for you to read?
Tidy App Menus – Tiered menu system keeps your tools and favorites closer by, and your distracting apps further away.
Muted App Icons – Unbranded and greyscale app icons prevent you from getting sidetracked and accumulating cognitive load on the way in/out of your phone.
App Scrambling – Randomize the location of your distracting apps to prevent unconscious opens and usage.
Siempo is free for limited time while in beta. We plan on charging for the final product and will never monetize users’ attention with advertisements.

- Thanks Hannah! Both of these improvements will be made in the next release
What a great concept and well executed. I don’t think it’s just the app that helps control time spent in the digital world, I think part of it is you’ve made a concious effort to change your habits by downloading this app in the first place. It’s minimalist and bare bones which I guess is the point. There is a small learning curve while working out how to set it up but it doesn’t take long. I do really like option to batch your notifications and choose which apps to batch and which to allow straight through. Two things I’d like to see. An option to use Google Allo as a messaging tool and also, to double tap on a notification on the lock screen to take you straight to that app like Android allows. At the moment, double tapping a notification just opens the Siempo home screen. Other than that, fantastic beta app and I can’t wait to see what the developers do next.
Really good home screen, has changed the way I interact with my phone. The design is really bland (positive) and makes me not want to use my phone. Only issue is when moving apps around the home screen. Blank spaces seem to count as apps and when slotting an app in, the whole row moves. Initially, I also had trouble moving apps. It’d also be nice to have a sorting option on the main home screen as well as the option to add custom tools. And maybe also the option to have your own wallpaper. Apart from that, really great work!
