Tivo user reviews:
Useless for S3 TiVo owners. Can view program guide and set recordings – the same exact thing which the TiVo remote already does. Does not display “Now Playing”, “To Do List” or allow you to modify season passes. This is another case of, “you already have a remote control which works fine and does everything, but we made a crippled-remote-control app because we can.” Although browsing a list of “What’s on now” is nice, there is no option to tune to that channel – you still need to use your TiVo remote.
Works OK, but not great. The latest update did help fix a lot of items, but it definitely needs some more help by the TiVo programmers. They need to make this app as slick as the iPhone (iOS) one. I hate it when companies come out with half-a*s apps for Android. I mean come on, how hard is it to make the same app as good for Android. Come on TiVo…we luv ya, but get it in gear.
Works perfectly on Evo3d! (I’m on cable company TiVo tho, if that makes a difference)*
Not only does it not work much with non-Premiere Tivos, it couldn’t even apply a new season pass to the proper Tivo unit in my house. It applied it to a unit that it didn’t even recognize because the unit is so old. How the heck did that happen? I’ve been a loyal Tivo customer for years with three units in my house plus one for my parents and the in-laws but this app is very disappointing. Step up, Tivo.
