Wearable Widgets

Wearable Widgets : Widgets you can wear.

Put virtually any homescreen widget from your phone onto your smartwatch orGoogle Glass™. Supports Android Wear and Sony SmartWatch 1 & 2; Samsung Gear (Tizen) is coming soon!

PLEASE NOTE: You MUST have one of these devices (Glass or a supported smartwatch) to use this app!

Wearable Widgets creates a bridge from your phone to your wearable device for the thousands of widgets available on Android. You don’t need to wait for developers to support smartwatches or Glass; get your apps on your wearable now, in a format that the developer has already designed for a small screen.

Take a look at the home screen of your Android phone – you probably have a number of widgets that you refer to all the time. Now imagine how useful they would be if you could see them on your watch, or in your Glass: weather, news, sports scores and much more, all at a glance without having to drag out your phone. Realize more of the potential of your wearable device with this nifty app.

Now, Please Adjust Your Expectations

This free app supports unlimited usage of one widget at a time. Multiple widget support is available as a small in-app purchase, but please confirm that your favorite widgets are compatible with your wearable device before buying.

Some widgets lend themselves better than others to the screen size on wearable devices, and consequently, not every widget works well on every device – that’s unavoidable. In testing we’ve also come across a handful of widgets that don’t look quite right on-device (most notable of these is Twitter) and we’re still working to resolve these issues. This app is breaking new ground and there will be other bugs that need working out of it. Rest assured, we’re on the case.

• You’ll find that taps and swipes on your wearable device aren’t quite as nifty as when you interact directly with your phone – there’s a bit of lag in the connection between your wearable and your phone, and there may be no way around that.

If you do have any difficulties, please email us, or stop by our community on Google+: https://goo.gl/dbZ1d0. Please do not just leave a complaint as a comment here: this is an app store, not a support forum.

Using with Android Wear

With your Wear device paired to your phone, just install and run this app, and select a widget or two. Then say to your watch, “Ok Google, start widgets!” (If you prefer, you can also find Wearable Widgets in the touch menu of the watch, in the “Start…” app list.)

The app does not yet support using a widget as your watchface, or widgets on notification cards in your stream. These features are in the works, and we appreciate your patience.

Using with Sony SmartWatch 1 and 2

You’ll need Sony’s Smart Connect app (https://goo.gl/4JDnN) installed and configured on your phone, but you probably already have that. So, just run Wearable Widgets, and select a widget from the list that pops up. To see it on your wrist, simply tap our “W” icon on the watch’s home screen, and voila!

Using with Google Glass

To show widgets on Glass, you’ll need this app installed on your phone, plus a small second app on Glass. You can find the Glassware download link (plus more instructions) at our website, https://widgets.glass. Run the phone app once to set up your widget, then just say, “OK Glass… Show widgets”.

Enjoy wearing your widgets!

Wearable Widgets user reviews :

No go on G3 & Gwatch Not sure what’s happening but trying to launch causes a “settings has stopped” FC on the phone. Trying to launch on the watch gives a spinning circle that locks up the screen. Uninstalled for now. – devices: Brand new LG G3 stock 4.4.2 not rooted. LG Gwatch new. Latest update. no dev options enabled.

  • We’ve identified an incompatibility with the LG G2 and G3 that doesn’t affect other phones. We’re actively working on a fix to this problem and will release an update ASAP.
Great start but not there yet The widgets look great how ever when watch dims and I wake it up again the widget is no longer displayed but the clock face is and he widget shows as a notification. If possible would love to remain in widget in wake up

  • Google hasn’t officially released developer support for this feature, and while it can be done unofficially, there are still some rough edges. We didn’t want to delay the initial Wear release of this app while we explored those issues, but it’s definitely in our plans. Thanks for your patience.
