Xenowerk Tactics  Play the first part for free. Get access to the full game with an in-app purchase.

Play as the commander of an emergency response team after a disaster at a secret lab, hidden deep in the arctic region. Your task is to cover up and maximize profits for the Xenowerk corporation, or to save the world, depending on whom you ask…

EXPLORE
Deploy squads on expeditions into the infected zone. Explore a ferocious landscape scattered with remnants of Xenowerk’s absurd research facilities. Use skills, traits and mutations to mitigate the dangers, horrors and mishaps during your journeys.

Push your operatives to the limit, not to waste any precious time. Explore jungles, swamps, laboratories, shelters and factories. Scavenge for valuable resources. Carry out various missions. Secure strategic safe zones. Find and rescue M.I.A. operatives.

FIGHT
Control your squad in real-time combat against hordes of mutants. Use operative skills and mutations, such as Frag Grenade, Bait & Trap, Adrenaline, Pyrokinesis and much more, to skew the odds in your favor. Activate Tactical Pause at any time to give more detailed orders.

MANAGE
Recruit and evolve Marines, Rangers and Scientists as your operatives. But choose wisely, some may obtain dubious traits or mutations.

Spend gathered resources to enhance your base of operations; Barracks, Recruitment, Field hospital, Armory, etc. Spend earnings on treatments, upgrades and recruitment.

Cater for the whims of the Xenowerk Management to keep getting funded. Earn some extra cash-under-the-table by selling off resources on the Black Market. Or maybe try to save the world…

Xenowerk Tactics user reviews :

Graphics & UI are decently good, the event cards add a nice twist (loved the art in it too), & the resource management is not bad although not that tricky to tackle. The tactical play on the demo was long enough to give you a peek. Just didn’t think it was compelling enough to buy this as it felt repetitive, there was not much was at stake, there’s no overarching storyline I should care about, and ultimately I wanted something badass like XCOM. Still, this is great game, just not my cup of tea.

Spectacular game, very nice. Reminds me of XCOM, and I loved those games. Part easy grind, part intense action, and an interesting story behind it all. It’s a bit monotonous at times, with only 3 classes available and limited decisions to make each day in the game, but a lot can be done with careful preparation. I especially like how you can pause when the heat is too much mid-battle, although that sometimes didn’t help lol. Definitely would check out the full version.

When the game lags this means two things. 1) you activated a swarm and a lot of mutants are coming for you, or 2) a big guy is coming which is usually accompanied by a smaller swarm. Tips for newbies: play around in easy first. Easy is not a cakewalk. In hard mode the mutants well mutate and start out with “poison” and regeneration. If it seems like a endless number or steady stream of enemies is coming, look for a spawner. Beware of long hallways, there maybe spawners/nest on both sides.

The games great! Managing the base and carrying out missions is enticing and entertaining. The only issues I’ve experienced is common to other reviews – control. Controlling the operatives is cumbersome with operatives moving when trying to move the camera view. I also think there could be more features for the high price.

I’m honestly really enjoying the experience so far and I’m playing the free version. I think the devs did a great job and just made a legitimate tactical squad based rts basically. The gameplay is really fun, although I think the addition of a loot system to find unique weapons and armor would be awesome, and I think it would compliment the random perk mutation system. My favorite part is that this game doesnt shivers microtransactions in your face, you dont have to pay money to do everything.

The game is good, and I don’t mind paying for a game if it’s good, but… well the way this occurred left a really bad taste in my mouth. There was no indication that it was a demo, yet after a short while of playing the game stopped abruptly and gave me the message “you must buy the game to continue playing”. The majority of apps I use succeed in getting me to spend money by giving me a compelling reason to. This one failed to get me to spend money by demanding that I do so immediately.
