AnkiDroid Flashcards user reviews :

The app is fantastic and the latest update makes synchronising data a lot more convenient. However, a small bug from what I can tell is the fact that the keyboard input for typing exercises always resets to your system default, which is pretty annoying when you have to type a lot of words and have multiple keyboard inputs on your phone to scroll through. There is also no rebuild and empty button on filtered decks anymore.

The app is great, I absolutely love it! I have encountered only one issue, that is : when I click card browser and try to scroll through my collection, the sub-menu comes back to the original place. It’s pretty annoying because I have a lot of subdecks and it sometimes takes a few tries to reach my desired destination. If you could fix that, it would be awesome. It’s not an issue with my phone, I’ve seen this bug on another phone too. Hope I made myself clear.. Great app nonetheless! Good job!

  • I believe this was a regression in the support libraries and it is fixed in the beta, can you try it and report back?  docs.ankidroid.org/manual.html#betaTesting

With anki and constant use in every day, my grades have just gone up. I remember things much easier. The fact that the synchronization is free, it is a game changer. I can use it at home, on my PC, but also on the go, for example in the bus. I do not know how much information I would have forgotten if anki were not to exist.

Overall easy to use and customize to your specific tastes. Importing your data is easy and usually works without issue. Being able to review when away from a computer is invaluable and this app does a lot to make Anki the best flashcard system out there. Only drawback is that it lacks support for plugins but it’s not a major issue but can be sometimes annoying. For example Cloze Overlapper, a very popular addon, overwrites the the scheduling on its cloze cards on PC but not on Android.

The Ankidroid flashcard app is one of the first and best apps for recording flashcards. It is based on a scientifically proven approach to learning, and it is very effective. However, the synchronization can be problematic when you have multiple clients (desktop and apps). Make sure you do a separate backup to avoid data loss. The UX design is less intuitive than the modern Android OS experience. For example, the fonts adjustments are limited.

Not your ordinary flash card app. The possibility of what it can be used to “keep things in mind”. I have tried several options out there this is by far the most powerful, flexible and compatible app. Both desktop/mobile all checks. It’s not just the med students but any curious soul who isn’t making use of it might be missing one heck of a gem. Best of all its free and open source – what a time to live.

Overall this is a good app, although i prefer desktop version more. Some of my card do not work right on phone(e.g. sound or image is missing). The most annoying part so far is that it starts to download everything from scratch when i click synchronize, not only missing part, and it takes some time, when i need only a few cards or I have no new cards, but i need my progress

  • Hi there! Believe it or not, the media sync does not start from scratch – it will pick up where it left off and it gets closer and closer to finishing each time until all your sound/images are downloaded. Media sync in particular is very slow / stops frequently / needs re-tries right now and we apologize for the frustration. Fix will be in 2.16

Probably, the best flash card app on the market. Based on Anki, and compatible with Anki’s web sync. Extensive abilities to add visuals, and Mathjax/LaTex formulas. The only issue now is that the last update (with Mathjax v3) seems to have some issues with the math (Mathjax) font. Characters are too close to each other and don’t look nice as they used to. Hopefully, it will be fixed soon. P.S. Very quick response from the developer!

  • I think we are on a whole new major version of Mathjax (v3) in the 2.16 series, could you try a .A version of it from here to see if your Mathjax looks good in it?  github.com/ankidroid/Anki-Android/releases – if it does not look good there, you might file an issue with an example: github.com/ankidroid/Anki-Android/issues/new/choose
