Good for analysis and working out the best move to make, however it does accept the best alternative moves. Forces you to think rather than suggest what to look for, however it will hint which piece to move after one attempt. It rates each puzzle with points + or — depending on difficulty or attempts made. It will also allow you to play on from the position of the board in play mode as white or black, which is accessed from analysis mode. Overall a very useful app. And quite addictive.
Way better than Tactics Frenzy. Clever idea very well implemented. CTP gives you truly tricky and complex chess positions, can you find the best Stockfish moves or alternative equally good moves. Use this and your tactical ability will improve. Dev… how about a live progress ELO on the main screen instead of buried in the slightly unintuitive menus? Otherwise, kudos for the best chess puzzle app!
It feels like there’s no flexibility. Make a good move where you take a piece with no consequences? WRONG! You gotta actually sacrifice your queen to get 2 bishops. Create a fork where, no matter what, you’ll be able to take a rook next turn? WRONG! Thing is, you have to do the moves EXACTLY like they want you to. And if you get it wrong ONCE, then your score is being decreased no matter what. Unforgiving
It’s very helpful app. I really enjoy it a lot. Here not only you can play the “best move”-puzzle but also you can complete the game from there against computer.
Yeah… I’m a class A player. This is a nice app if you use it right. It took some work to get above the strong amateur level. Doing the analysis in your head is the best way. The puzzles seem to be from games.. and I wish I could add some. Also use the repeat for puzzles you cannot solve, be honest with yourself, and THERE ARE NO ADDS!!!
Simple app. Easy to use. Love how my progress is tracked. That always helps to make you get serious and play precisely while working on improving. No Ads so that’s amazing! One tip to improve the app is if we could save or bookmark a puzzle. Then we could try again any puzzles that we failed but at a later date for the sake of improving. I really appreciate the app though so A BIG THANK YOU!
No Ads!!! Thank you The puzzles are very challenging for me at times but it feels great when I get them right on the first attempt. There is an option for hints or you can give up and see the solution. You can also play a game against the computer too.
Fantastic free application. I think about adding another app for chess puzzles but I cant find one any better than this!
Great app!!, but there was a problem when I made the best move but the engine suggested another move that obviously not a good move at all. Hope you can fix that. Thnx
