  Codeword Puzzles is an app to play Codewords (also known as Codebreaker), a popular word game similar to crosswords. It features several hundred free puzzles as well as 2 daily puzzles.

Codewords puzzles are similar to crosswords, but instead of clues, each letter has been replaced by a number from 1 to 26, and you need to figure out which letter each number represents.

The controls and game play are logical, clean, and smooth. Oddly, the game doesn’t appear tied to a single variant of English; sometimes using UK, sometimes American (individual puzzles seems consistent, but a puzzle can use one, the next puzzle can be using the other). Other than inconsistent language variant used, it’s a great game.

excellent game, would have loved if it would automatically highlight unfilled cells on entering data like arkadium. help when 1/2 letters are left

I love codewords and have found this one very workable! You can actually try a letter without it being set in stone so you can change it if you then know you’ve got it wrong. I’ve not used an on line codeword site before, it’s great.

Very nice game, great fun and very enjoyable. Doesn’t drain the battery. I gave 4* as I am playing this in England and I use UK English and spelling… this game uses American spelling (odor instead of odour, Oxidize not -ise, etc.) with Spanish words.

Not too hard, learning new words here :) Not so easy as to get boring, not so hard that it would be frustrating. I really like this

Slightly different experience to the pen + paper version, but good fun, as it’s now about speed as well as puzzling.

I’m enjoying it but would enjoy more if not timed. Like in paper form. Just want to have quiet time with no pressure .

I enjoy these puzzles. Very little ads too, which is great, as theres less distraction and disturbance.

Good game, would be better if in some games you had to use all the letters of the alphabet in all levels.

Good but wish it would not use proper nouns, abbreviations, and acronyms.

Easy to use adaptation of the game, but I really wonder what dictionary it was based on – there are just so many words I’ve never seen before.

Very nice codewords game and the ads are not that intrusive

Sometimes deceptively harder than you may think, but still enjoyable.

Worth the small cost for no-Ad play. The app works very well and has lots of puzzles. I upgraded to the paid version after only a short time but don’t recall the ads being very intrusive like other free game apps typically are.

It is good, but it does use words that you would never guess (or aren’t English) making it harder not to just guess and hope (or check) you get it right.

Entertaining pastime. Easy to access and get to grips with. Keeps me engrossed for hours.

Very enjoyable. The step from Easy access Intermediate is rather large, and until one gets the Gist of the workings.

Reasonably good game…pity there isn’t an Australian version. It would be even better if every sequence of letters made a valid word…some of the two and three letter sequences don’t make legitimate words.

Brilliant way of passing time during this virus problem, burnt more than a couple of meals getting carried away with this app …thoroughly recommend playing. Use of the extra letter is brilliant when your mind goes blank,
