Dead City user reviews :

I really liked this game! You have a telephone text message conversation with a random stranger during a zombie apocalypse, choosing the text options you want next. It takes a couple of minutes each time, and you play for a couple of days. Emotional ending – well done, guys :) One small addition – the reviews about the bad grammar and spelling mistakes … how would you do, writing texts in a zombie apocalypse? I don’t think you would do any better lol

What a creative game. I loved the texting aspect of it and that you could wait for replies as if it were actually happening in real time. The English translation was a little wonky, but it didn’t make the dialogue unreadable or anything. It just kind of made it sound unnatural/awkward. I kind of took it as English not being Sam’s first language, but then my responses were in awkward English too, so.. I also wish we could have said more to Sam. I felt like I was always being short with him.

I actually miss Sam. This is the first time that has happened playing a messenger game. Well done developers! Apart from a few grammar mistakes, I think it’s a very solid game. The ads were well paced, I felt. It was rewarding enough to watch one and get to skip a few breaks. I would love to see a sequel from these developers where we get to speak to Sam (good choice of gender neutral name by the way) again after the escape.

I really enjoyed the immersion this game granted, but at the same time I wish it went even deeper into realism. It’s a messenger app, so why won’t Sam send us some pictures? Everyone I text with sends me pictures of things they found etc. Sometimes the choices were nearly the same, but I would have replied differently. Especially in the very beginning and in the end I had the feeling I couldn’t really change the story at all. And it’s too short, sadly. Other than that? Really cool!
