KNOWN ISSUES: HTC android 2.1 has a bug in foreground service code, which leads to unfixable stuttering / skipping in music playback.

phone state & identity permission is used to detect when a user accepts incoming call, to stop playback

sdcard access permission is used to store playlists and configuration files

internet access is for radio streaming, ads and sending crash reports

Best music player I’ve tried! Don’t forget to download the plugins! The author fixed every issue I had with it, plus gave me the option to get rid of that ugly LCD theme (I know most users liked it, but I didn’t and am glad I have the option to use something more modern-Android-like). I got pro because I wanted to support the author and have all the features and none of the ads. :)

Good potential, terrible UI There is no way to select another folder once you start playing MP3s from one folder. There is no “go up to parent directory” navigation option or anything intuitive like that. What this app excels at, that no other apps do, is automatically decoding non-unicode characters to Unicode. So it is incredibly useful in playing foreign language MP3s for that reason.

Sound quality super Good: sound is not colored, detailed, very informative low frequency. Internal codecs don’t make sound sharper (vs. andLess, etc). Bad: Stupid UI – can’t play from folders, example: for me andLess UI is better (classic), Foobar UI is better too :)
