handyCalc user reviews :

So I’ve been using this since I think my X or X2 and it still works on my note Note 8, but when I try using the currency converter on my OnePlus 12 the application crashes to the previous screen without a reason why. I’ve reinstalled it and restarted but no reason for the malfunction. Please fix it when you can, even though I know few people likely use the feature it is nice to have it in an application I’m already using instead of constantly pulling up a website or a separate application.

This is still the best scientific calculator out there. 2 issues: 1) the stick-it option to have direct home screen shortcut to unit converters don’t work, and 2) when inputting a single long equation, the app tries to auto-calculate after each entry, and causes significant lag. Please allow us to disable auto calculate.

An update after such a long time! Wow, Thanks! The amazing thing is I’ve been using Handycalc since Android 4.1 and never felt that it needed an upgrade, but now in 2020, I would really appreciate it if you could take some time for this project and give it entire UI a visual overhaul for modern times and users. Appreciate this app every day!

You can’t go back after entering an equation & put a part of it in a square/n-root, & unlike every other calc I’ve ever used you can’t do a √(…) to put everything you want under the root in the parenthesis, as it doesn’t use them in the typical way. You have to press the right arrow to space away from it when you’re done with what you want under it. Just too unintuitive & different from other calcs & unable to modify equations.

Simple and simply the best there is. It’s a shame it looks so awful – the only reason I can’t give 5 stars is the horrid UI design. There is a minor annoyance glitch where it completes the calculation and creates a new blank one when I want to edit a previous one. Everything else is perfect.

The most useful app I’ve ever seen. Definitely read the tutorial, because it will shorten the learning curve to use the advanced functions. I use this everyday, have done done for years. The ability to define your own functions saves a lot of time.

Still by far the best free calculator app. But the design is very Android 2.x and if you enter more complex equations it gets very hard to handle them. Whish there was a bigger overhaul to make it even better

I really like the app and have been using it for a while now, but the way it handles scientific notation can be very annoying. Why is there not a setting for just standard scientific notation with X digits as the precision? For example, if I calculate 3E8/2.44E12, i get 122.95082E-6 in engineering notation, 0.000123 in normal notation, and I cannot figure out how to define the precision myself to get 1.2295E-4.

Best calculator. Nice design. Lots of features. Missed it when I lazily installed another one in my new phone.

Very nice calc. Lots of functionality and a good design. One minor annoyance is that the swipe feels unresponsive. It should behave the same as in the rest of Android: not wait until I lift the finger, not restrict the dragging speed; follow the finger as soon as dragging starts, and snap to the closest position when released. A few other features I’d like to see: – For simple calculations, show the result on the same line. – Show the calculation history on the same screen, above the current calculation, easily scrollable. – Engineering notation only outside a defined range. – For engineering and scientific notation, shortcut buttons to shift the decimal point of the result by 3 places left or right (adjusting the exponent)

Lots Of Functionality Have used this since having an HTC Thunderbolt. Does a lot more than I usually need. Has always covered more complex calculations.

My favorite calc app. Starting recently, it tells me I need to upgrade and quits, but there is no newer version

Perfect At last the expire problem is fixed . Simple perfect.

Little powerhouse! Awesome app! Small app, does a lot! Look around this app. Great features tucked away all over the place. What more could I want? Landscape, for tablets?
