I worked on the Shuttle program that put the International Space Station in orbit and then for the past 13 years supporting Station before retiring earlier this year. The app gave me accurate information on where to look to acquire the station so I was able to watch it pass across W to NW even though it was at a low elevation relative to the passes that pass thru nadir from one side to the other. Especially great since ISS will be deorbited in another 6 years in 2030. Great app.
I never fully appreciated how obnoxiously intrusive ads can be until this app started shoving videos in front of my face and trying to take over the phone. I can live without ISS tracking. I will suffer that deprivation in return for the privilege of flippiing off the idiot developer of that ad mechanism.
- I’m sorry for the ads. At the moment I need the ad revenue to cover server and development costs. The ads will be disable once you activate one of the Extensions. See the Extensions in the menu. This can be done by in app purchases or (sorry) playing an ad at a more convenient moment.
well I frankly dislike the feature of knowing the space station is going over Tianjin China rather than the area that I live or maybe my grandchild who is hip into this. It creates an error on my part to say that it is going over at a certain time for them to look for it. But of course now I’ve got to go into this interruption in my notifications to see if something I’m not interested in yet I want to know when it’s going right over somewhere I’m at…
- The international space station travels at great speed. The moment that ISS gives you a notification, it will be visible from your location in 5 minuten. The object called Tiangong is the Chinese space station. It is also visible. If you don’t want to see it, you can disable it in the filter menu (funnel icon)
This app is one of the coolest and best apps out there for giving as much information as possible about tracking the ISS AND other orbital bodies out there. I 100% suggest downloading this app!!!
This app is REMARKABLE! I have enjoyed seeing the ISS passes and have also seen Iridium flares. Way cool!
Patience if you don’t see it right away. It will be right where it says it is. Have yet to spot north Korean satellite or HST. Did see a flare, through. Pretty cool. Weather feature helpful.
