A simply stunning instrument for all. Takes a bit of headscratchin at 1st to be expected. E.g saving loops as a sequence to record, but we’ll worth having a go & rewarding. The finger pad is a MASTERSTROKE. Complex jazz progressions & never a bum note. I cannot fathom why korg offers this free. The hardware version is £280 I cannot praise this enough in short terms.
Far too reductive a toolset to be useful. I think I can understand Korg’s approach with the price vs the utility of their hardware counterpart, but there are some seriously powerful applications on offer that aren’t expensive at all & unfortunately, in this form, this Kaossilator can’t compete.
I have been a rapper since 1989. Music producing since then. For the price, this is awesome. It’s easy to take and make simple ideas. It has many features I haven’t tapped yet, but if you have the most vague idea of how to use a DAW and maybe and inkling of music theory this is a gold mine.
This is a fun app but it lacks any means of synchronising with other devices. If it could send a timing pulse to my Pocket Operators or Volcas then it would become vastly more useful. As it is, it’s a tool for playing and inspiration bit no more. (Hint for Korg: please add a timing pulse!)
This is the top app for making music with a plethora of preloaded complex, highly flexible, bendable synthesized sounds. Ability to play multiple instruments simultaneously. Recording. All scales and keys represented. Customizable pitch and time. Expensive, and worth it. Loads of fun.
I’ve been playing with it for about a day now so this is an early review. It’s fun to make loops with and I think with practice it would be good for live performances. That said the interface is a little confusing with little to no instructions. I still don’t fully understand the file saving. Not sure if you can save a project, looks like exporting a wav is the only option. I’d love to save it so I can try something else and then come back to the current project later. Ideally I’d like a timeline to mix the loops I make or at least an easy way to save out the loop as separate instruments so I can mix them in another program.
