Download the app, create an account, accept our User Agreement, acknowledge you’ve read our Privacy Notice, and add a valid payment method
Find a nearby Lime vehicle on the map (vehicle availability depends on your location and supply)
Unlock your vehicle by scanning the QR code, entering the plate number, or, if available in your city, tapping a button on the app

Lime user reviews :

8 km/h speed limit in some regions and it doesn’t let you lock in many areas. You can’t see which zones are prohibited BEFORE starting the ride, so you might end up in a zone where you are both speed restricted and can’t end the ride, but you still have to get back into a normal zone to end the ride to stop your card being drained. You’ll find yourself pushing forward (the 8 km/h zone is more like 5km/h so it’s faster just pushing it yourself) until the nearest point where you can lock.

We understand that this can be frustrating and designed the map in the app to show all relevant areas to ensure they are respected. Pros: Easy to use, easy to find even on secondary streets, reliable, friendly app. Cons: Very expensive, sometimes a taxi would be cheaper. Even though they’re available in a lot of countries around the world, THEY ARE NOT USING THE METRIC SYSTEM! I understand that being an American company they don’t really get how the rest of the world works, but you’d expect that the marketing team would think of this beforehand.

Very frustrating, inconsistent experiences. When it works, it works, but when it doesn’t, forget about it. Some examples: intermittent CC declines; Lime Cash useless for and prioritized over Ride Passes; can’t use one Ride Pass, then another without ending/restarting ride; the lock doesn’t always unlock; app’s miscalculated balances can end ride and leave you stranded (and even when their system effs up, customer support says “we will not be able to provide a refund”). That kinda says it all.

For apps which provide basic services (such as transport), people are much more likely to leave a review when they’ve had a negative experience – otherwise, they just take such apps for granted and hence don’t feel the need to “compliment” them by rating them highly. That’s why the rating for this app is so low. However, in reality, the scooters are really satisfying to use and are in good shape, the setup procedure is simple, the UI is clean, etc. The Google Play rating is highly deceptive.

Best way to get around Paris and really good fun at the same time!! So easy to use at any age!! The app guides you to the many available scooter parking areas where you can pick up and park up your scooter. Each journey is a few euros so very economic and all the scooters are solar powered. Only downside…. you get wet when it rains but it’s only water folks!! Enjoy, we did.
