neutriNote  What is neutriNote?

In a nutshell, all-in-one preservation of written thoughts, be those text, math (LaTeX), rich markdown, drawings, etc., in fully searchable plain text (universal UTF-8).

Uncluttered UI

Fine-tuned user interface elements to reduce app switching. Accessible search filters for precise navigation to your note contents with minimum taps.

Customization

Your workflow can be further automated by Tasker, Barcode Scanner, ColorDict, and other add-ons, or by connecting neutriNote’s repository to web-based services. Options available to deep configure your note taking process.

Backup

Multiple ways to backup your notes. Freedom to pick a cloud backend that works for you: open source P2P Syncthing, Dropbox, or third party Google Drive, Box, OneDrive components.

Cost

Totally free. No hidden permission (see below). Optional add-ons can be purchased to support its development.

App Permissions Explained:

1. Location access for location based search
2. Camera access for built-in barcode scanner
3. Storage access for core functions
4. Permission required by Sony devices

1. and 2. can be denied/revoked as needed either from Settings or via Marshmallow’s runtime permissions.

Wonderful (rare) to have the cursor keeping its position in both views, even visible in read mode, even after the text is changed; allows the user to stay concentrated on her ideas rather than struggling scrolling up and down to recover the related text. Only dreams: an alphabetic sorting of lines inside files and a one-click date-time.   • Thanks for using the app. There is a way to sort via text expansion (please see Help document). For one click date time, please look for ‘pref_custom_date_format’ under Hacks section. Hope this helps.
The user interface and procedures are very clean, except the search and replace scheme. Also the undo function does nothing.

Good app. Work smoothly and fast on old budget phone.

Just the most amazing app if you are into writing, or even taking a lot of self-notes. Offline data saving, no hassle with network availability, saves files as textfiles on local memory. Minimalistic, but has the required features to customise. I owe a lot to the developer for making my life simpler. Kudos!

Excellent app thanks! What is the licencing on this? Is it a closed source project? I couldn’t see the source code repo online

Amazing app! i downloaded this app years ago for basic note taking but it is now my go to app for a multitude of things. It can do ALL the things. There is a slight learning curve but nothing to difficult. Developer is very responsive and helpful. Amazing work man!

Great app with nice markdown support and global searching i! But I can’t import .md files from storage, and all files saved as txt, which means I can’t just sync those files to my pc or push them to git, I need to change file extension….

  • Hi, it’s possible to use multiple file types with the app. Please see Hacks section under Help, look for instructions on enabling “multiple file type support”. Hope this helps.
