OpenTasks – Provides user friendly interface

[App] OpenTasks

OpenTasksOpenTasks : An Open Source task app in Material Design.

This app supports basic task management and provides user friendly user interface.

To complete a task in the list view, just hold it for a moment and fling it from the left to the right.
To edit a task fling it from the right to the left.

NOTE: This task app doesn’t support recurring tasks yet. You’ll see recurring tasks, but you can not edit single instances. Any changes you make will apply to the entire series! Please keep that in mind.

It works in Android 2.x, but it’s optimized for Android 4.x. Support for Android 2.x will be improved in future releases.

Open source
The app is open source. Please feel free to join the development at: github.com/dmfs/tasks

Report bugs

Features still to come:

more translations
support for recurring tasks
support for alarms
support for categories
sortings and filters
many more

Please don’t rate missing features, but only features the app already has. The app is still under development and lots of fancy stuff is still to come.

Permissions
At present the app doesn’t use the “read contacts” permission. This permission has been added in advance for future releases. It’s planned to support adding attendees to tasks and to provide auto-completion for the contacts.

OpenTasks user reviews :

After 24h of use I’d say I’m surprised by so few options. I’d wish an option to set default values for new tasks, recurrence options, and the ability to snooze a task for anything else than a day. In my setup, I usually need to snooze it 15 minutes but right now the only option seems to postpone an entire day which forces me to enter into deep editing. Otherwise sync works, which is the most important. Thanks!

It is an amazing app. And the best part is that it is open-source and developed on Github. It will be amazing if the developers could add these two features: Night-mode (or dark theme), and a task tracker feature wherein the app will simply calculate the avg progress % per day required to complete any particular task and show based on that whether the user is ahead of schedule or behind schedule. Thanks a lot.

This task app is simple but that is fine as it is fairly reliable, bug free and gets the job done. Main issue is that List View and Date View are the same. Need List View to be exactly that and ignore associated task dates.

This app is nearly perfect, but how do you create a new List via app to be synced to cloud. Everytime I add one it says it will be local only. How do I change it? If this feature is added or explained to me I’ll update to 5 stars.

Simple and elegant for the features it has. Excited to see recurring tasks and alarms and categories! One question, and I can’t tell if I’m just dumb, but how do I connect this to my Nextcloud instance for a synced list?

Nice overall, albeit it lacks recurrent tasks. Notifications are broken, that’s a spoiler. The actions work at random.

Great app, sync’s with my Nextcloud using Davx and has plenty of features.
