Does what it says on the tin. Flawlessly. One thing I’d like is to be able to keep the Writable toggle on by default.

I have been using Password safe on my PC for many years without problem’s, I downloaded the app yesterday and have not been able to get it working. As soon as I press the permissions button on initial opening, the screen closed. On reopening, I can not find a way to create a file/safe, it just cycles through a series of screens. One gives the option of downloading a file. But it gives no way to create a file or master password.

I have been using this app on the desktop for the last 10 years and recently moved to the mobile version. It is my favourite. How I wish it had a biometric authentication to open the main password file instead of yet another password.

works beautifully, generating strong, random passwords, and acting as a keyboard to type them in, bypassing the insecure clipboard. The encrypted backups make it easy to securely back the safe up, and the fingerprint reading makes it easy to unlock the safe. The backed up, encrypted safes can be used on any platform for which a port is available, and Bruce Schneier, the original architect, has cryptographic programming expertise that’s up to the job.

I cannot find where to change the master password. Ver 6.2, thank you. How do I enable finger print option?

  • Choose the ‘Save password’ option when opening a file

Simple, secure, no ads. Back up manually by sending The encrypted file to yourself. This is an open source app. Used for years. Nothing sent out. If you forget your Master password (the only one you need to remember) your data remains encrypted. No way can it be retrieved. That’s the way good encryption works.

This is my 2nd review. Previously, I had 3 stars due to couldn’t enter new entries. Developer responded suggesting to reinstall. However, today I retried and it worked. I didn’t reinstall. So I changed my review to 4 stars. Will update later to 5 if don’t get this issue again.

  • Try reinstalling the app. A number of people have reported a similar issue, and a reinstall seems to solve the problem.
I have been using this App for more than a decade without issue. Recently moved to an iPhone and found both Strongbox (app crashes after selecting psafe file) and PW safe2 is a chargeable app Feel let down by this App

Reliable, secure password manager. If you save the encrypted database file in the cloud you get the benefit of local (non internet) access, with protection from device failure, yet without the risk of a provider security breach or business failure.

Great open source app for storing & managing passwords. Been using it for years. In conjunction with PasswordSafe-Sync and Dropbox my password safe is accessible on all my desktop and mobile devices. Optional views like the flattened list view let you at a glance see you’ve been using the same password at too many sites ! Donation made via the Sourceforge link.

Keeps getting better. Great software on the pc brilliant software on the phone well done keep up the good work!! I could not live with it with over 300 entries.

Use this all the time Besides providing the security for all my passwords, there are no ads too.

Awesome Been using this app for years, always reliable

This is a great app

Not letting me add new entries in Android 7 Worked perfectly on marshmallow, not working at all now. Please advise? Happy to give the five stars it deserves once bug is fixed

  • How are you opening the file? In an emulator, Andriod 7 is working ok.

Love this app! Especially love the new PasswordSafe keyboard! It allows for quick text entry on websites, when required, w/o having to switch back to the default keyboard in phone settings and then back again, in order to continue using PasswordSafe data before the database times out for security reasons. App is now much more effortless to use. Best version to-date!

This is the best password safe in my opinion. However, two features would make this app even greater. 1) utilize fingerprint for authZ to open password files; 2) Have results from the search display as I’m typing. These two things would only increase the user experience.
