XSection – Improve your spatial imagination

[Game] XSection

XSection  Master different methods and solve puzzles.

More than 100 tasks: from basics to challenges
11 chapters to explore
Built-in glossary with geometric terms
Step-by-step instructions
Easy to use

XSection is a trainer of solid geometry problem solving. It teaches you how to perceive 2D representation of polyhedra, lines, and planes from 3D Euclidean space. All the problems can be solved without complex calculations. The app contains the required theory facts and explanations. If you forgot a definition, you can instantly find it in the app’s glossary.

XSection is a perfect way for students to practice before tests or exams and to improve your spatial imagination. The app will not allow you to create an impossible object: for example, to “intersect” skew lines (which is a typical error when constructing cross sections on paper).

The best way to learn to solve math problems is to solve them a lot.

Main topics:

Prisms, cubes, parallelepipeds, and cuboids
Pyramids and tetrahedrons
Diagonals of polyhedrons
Cross sections
Diagonal sections
Parallel and central projections
Method of traces
Method of inner projection

XSection follows Euclidea – Pythagorea – Pythagorea 60° series of our geometric games. With these apps you can become a real Geometry Guru!

Starting from the 8th chapter levels are unlocked at 4-hours interval. But you can buy an IAP that removes this restriction.

XSection user reviews :

It is a hard one to rate. I enjoyed it as a fun math puzzle. It was fairly simple, only the last section was somewhat challenging to me, but that will vary depending on player’s spatial imagination. And I say imagination because I didn’t find any way to rotate the puzzles. A shame, although it adds to the challenge. I find the 4 hour wait for new level in free version annoying but I respect it as a way to incentivize purchase.

Absolutely Brilliant! No ads (thank you!); progressive difficulty; dozens of free levels, some of them quite challenging for someone who had not done much geometry; developer does not pester you… ever. I am buying the full app

Works pretty nicely. Very interesting. I would agree with some of the other reviews, however, in that some of the text is a bit cursory and rather loosely translated. Generally a cool app though.

Great game. Would love to be able to set the colour of lines or label them somehow. Some puzzles get very messy to follow. Still five stars though.

Absolutely love this game! Extremely challenging, yet still satisfying. Only for the true math (geometry) geeks. I definitely feel like I got my money’s worth. Thank you for another great game!

One of the best games I’ve ever played. Fantastic at letting you figure out each puzzle based on learning from previous puzzles. Having a bit more background would sometimes be helpful.

Excellent app. Problems 10.7 and higher are pretty interesting. Made me recall my school years. Can be solved without looking for solutions. Good luck to everyone playing this game.

Pretty neat, very mind boggling. There was only one level that I couldn’t beat on my own. 10.6 is needlessly harder than all the rest and uses some concepts that aren’t in other problems in order to solve. But otherwise, if you’re willing to wait you can beat every level without paying anything. I wish there was some comemoration for beating all levels. Unless you guys keep adding new ones. Sometimes the lines are sort of hard to pick up and place though.

Fantastic game. As wonderful as Euclidea and Pythagorea in challenge level and app presentation, and three-dimensional. I paid the two bucks to unlock all the levels in a heartbeat. So, why 4 stars and not 5? I can’t label my lines, nor can I erase lines that I don’t need anymore. That makes it *really* hard to navigate what I’m looking at, and severely mars an otherwise very-top-shelf game for math geeks. The ability to erase lines and to label lines would change my rating from 4 to 5 easily.

Its a great app for brainstorming. But u need to know all existing geometry formulae( and methods) are not correct. One of ur solutions is incorrect, and i don’t think u will be able to find it in this lifetime. So, thats a challenge for ur team..! Best of luck !
