Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) treatment is a type of psychotherapy — or talk therapy — that utilizes a cognitive-behavioral approach. It began with efforts to treat borderline personality disorder (also known as Emotional Instability Disorder). DBT has been conceptualized as a treatment broadly applicable to individuals with difficulties regulating emotions. Empirical evidence now supports the use of DBT adapted for eating disorders, substance use disorders, and PTSD.

DBT Coach user reviews :

Super glitchy. Needed to restart my phone several times as the program just froze up. I really want this to work! Food Journaling is a big focus for me right now. Trying to add food items is difficult. I had hoped that by upgrading to the paid app, that the program would work better but it really is frustrating.

I’m really disappointed in the advanced experience on the app. I was really enjoying the ease of use with the diary card, so I purchased the subscription. The mindfulness exercises are voiced by an AI text to speech program. This was jarring and not relaxing. It was difficult to focus on the necessary emotions and experiences due to the uncomfortable nature of text to speech programs. When I attempted to review the lesson videos, the app crashed every 20 to 30 seconds. I will not continue my sub

I’m finding it gotcha. I agree with the distance card. It would be ideal if we could customize to our best usage model. Mine froze when I tried to add an activity. I had to uninstall to reboot. When my objective is journaling, I’d like to go straight there. Haven’t yet gotten that far, despite several attempts. The app is sure a great idea! I wish each one of the diary measures was linked to an explanations,

  • Thank you for your kind feedback. We’d be happy to take a look into this for you, please contact us at apps-help@swasth.co. Regarding explanation of skills (if you are not already aware of DBT skills), if you click on the bulb icon on the header of that screen you can find explanation of each skill in the subsequent screen.

I’ve been looking for an app to complete my diary cards. This app has it. You tap on the skills you used then you have a slide bar for your urges, etc. There’s a place to enter what skills you tried to use in certain situations and how effective they were. It makes the beginning of the session much easier to remember and you don’t have to worry about a paper diary card.

  • Thank you so much for your review!

I honestly feel like this has the potential to be a pretty great an helpful app; it’s too bad it feels as though it takes advantage of people. I recognize the hard work and great design, but if I’m expected to pay over 100 dollars to keep it on my phone for a year, there’s a problem. My spotify doesn’t cost that much and they have artists to pay. I was considering impulsively buying the full thing because I would need to to track my behaviors that aren’t listed, but I don’t think it’s worth it.
