The Game of Life

[App] The Game of Life

The game of life is actually a cellular automaton devised by the mathematician John Horton Conway in 1970.

It’s sort of a virtual world where many cells are living.
They reproduce and die under certain conditions.
This game does not need the player itself (kind of zero-player game), but we can make it more interactive by adding special atterns that will evolve inspecific ways, or by changing the rules of the world, for instance.

The main features of my implementation are:

Changing the speed
Changing the size of the world
Changing the colors:
Changing the shape of cells (11 available)
Become master of the world by changing the rules:
18 predefined rules
Create your own rules
Library patterns (over 130):
Ability to rate for the best patterns
Ability to send patterns by email
Create life or destroy it, simply by touching the screen!

The Game of Life user reviews :

I have not had any problems with the app. It would be nice if it were more forgiving to clumsy people. I am very amazed at how many of these comments are negative based upon the fact that this isn’t a board game. The discription was not misleading in any way.

I wrote my own decades ago and this version is brilliant. I particularly like the easy rule change set up although there doesn’t seem to be an overcrowding entry. Overloads my Galaxy Tab at high speed and size.

I really liked it and wanted to have this game. Awesome work! Nice simple controls. A star missing in my rating due to lack of sharing(via email, sms etc) and loading/saving patterns from/to file or any format
