Great on the few occasions when it works. Unfortunately it rarely works. You’ll spend more time trouble shooting the connection than you’ll spend printing. Not much you can do. Trouble shooting basically involves unplugging and restarting the printer, the network and the device multiple times; until the printer finally shows up on the network.
Really great. it has everything I need. scanning, and printing documents, pictures, and identity cards from high to low resolution. If you already know your way into connecting your printer to wifi, then it is very easy to adjust your setting. And also the UI is good. The only thing that’s an issue is the need of at least an android version 9 phone/tablet that’s compatible with the app.
It does the job, but for some features like scanning, sometimes requires restarting, clearing the cache, and restarting the printer itself for it to work. Even when doing all that, the app will sometimes say a feature is not supported, then you restart the app, and it is working. In short, it does the job, but it seems it needs some work with making the features to stay working.
Frustrating! The app works great on laptops and computers, but on phones and tablets it is useless. Errors, connectivity issues all the time. And when trying to scan documents, printer will scan all the pages then give an error and only actually process one random page that was scanned. Why does this tool work so well on a computer and so poorly on a phone/tablet!?!
Omg…i successfully installed the HP Deskjet 2777 in the apps. Successfully print directly from the phone a few times. But all of sudden, the printer is unavailable. When I tried to add it, it says “My printer is not in the list”. And it is true. Tried for 2 hours to reinstall, succeeded. But then tried to scan, again it is unavailable. The printer has gone missing from the apps! Now I have to waste my time again switch on & off, unplugged, etc. OMG what kind of problem is this!!
The printer is heavily app dependent. Every function needs to log in the EWS to change. There is no way to “temporarily” set settings like change paper size/type, enlarge/reduce photocopy, or ID copy button in this app itself. Also, annoyingly, this app regularly logs me out. HP, YOU CAN DO BETTER!!! P.S. Ink level indicator in app does not work.
Excellent app, served its purpose. For some crazy reason my printer is appearing, it’s showing up online, BUT it says, NOT CONNECTED. I needed to get my timesheets scanned. I have HP-ENVY Pro6400 printer so I downloaded the app on my phone. It serves its purpose. I use the camera scan. I saved my work, labeled it. I used the share button. Connected to my email and sent my timesheet. Upload was easy, clear copies, I attached five papers, easy-to-understand self-explanatory.
This app used to keep me signed in but does not anymore. EveRy time I open it, a pop up tells me I have been signed out then after I clear that, I am redirected to a sign in page, then there’s one more pop-up before getting to the app. I understand it doesn’t sound like a big deal but I print on a very regular basis and to do that after having closed the app for ANY amount of time deters me from printing through HP Smart even though I do prefer it cos of all the print options/settings.
