Loved this app, but the most recent update took away a setting that I use regularly. When in video mode you had the option to change the “relative brightness” of individual sides, much like the the “color” tab. After the apdate there appears to be no way to do this in video mode, this is very disappointing as my TV is at an angle to the wall, and the un-even brightness is distracting.

Love these lights and app. Automation works really well for our toddler’s sleep light. One thing I’ve noticed lately is that one of our bulbs will revert back to the previous color if we use the hard switch versus the app, even after changing the color in the app. Hopefully this is just a small bug and can be fixed in later updates!
I use the hygrometer and thermometer for my “tomato plants”. The sensors work great and are calibrated well.and the alarms you can set are nice, so if the humidity or temp drops to low or too high, it sends me a notification. The problem I’m having with it is after I added a second sensor, now when I refresh the data to see what the levels have been over time, it keeps messing up the current time and not loading all the data. It still reads the current levels correctly, but the graph is wrong.
You definitely need the app to use all of your Govee products to their full capabilities. Using only the buttons on the device gives you very limited options. The app has a very easy to use UI and tons of preloaded themes, follow the music using the phones mic or the mic built into the light’s power wire, and a DIY function to design your own lightshows

Experience keeps getting worse with updates. Having to re-form groups just to get basic functionality. Half the time the lights won’t connect. Lost faith in the brand. Sadly, Nanoleaf and Twinkly have gone the same route. Not a single trustworthy brand of home lighting. My guess is this is the future of AI app development.
The lights are epic, they’re very handy and I can do a lot of things with them; I really enjoy them. The app, however, is less than ideal. It’s taken me upwards of 10 – 15 minutes at times to get the lights to connect. I’ve taken to spamming my airplane mode and Bluetooth on and off as rapidly as I can make my fingers go in hopes that it’ll reset the insane loading times and connect faster
Overall it works well. Biggest gripe is having to turn the device on to set the scene or make any changes. It defaults to the last config which might not be the best one for the current time. Off/On should only be for the LEDs. Leave the device options available when off so it doesn’t turn on with an undesired scene/setting.

Love their bulbs and I really like this new update. Everything looks cute and aesthetic. Very easy to use app. Makes it easy to have a “smart” home. Thanks Govee. I will continue to shop from you guys. I also really like how easily this works with Alexa and Google Home. I use both to control my lights and smart devices.

The app was great. Now my automation doesn’t work. I’ve reset it and the internet. Just to be clear, it used to work on the exact same system. It feels like a phone app problem. The string lights will not connect to the internet. I hope this app starts working again. My phone is an S24 ultra. Please fix the problem, I really do enjoy using Govee stuff.
