Portdorid – Identifying Devices on Local Network

[App] Portdorid – Network Analysis Kit & Port Scanner

PortdoridPortdorid is a Network Analysis Application that helps Network Administrators, Penetration Testers and Hackers with several useful networking tools including:
Port Scanning
Identifying Devices on Local Network
Ping
Traceroute
Wake-On-Lan (WoL)
DNS Lookup
Reverse IP Lookup

Portscanner – Scans and ip for open TCP ports, optionally it will use Banner Grabbing on with each port in order to gain more information or discover a web service. When a service is found on a port external applications will be offered to deal with certain protocols (ssh, telnet, http, https, ftp, smb etc.)

Local Network Information – Find out who’s on your wifi network. This will identify all devices on the same network and from here you can probe further and open the portscanner on any of the found devices.

Ping – Check if a host is online and how fast it responds

Traceroute – Perform a traceroute and geo-locate IPs to view on map

Wake-On-Lan – Wake compatible WOL devices.

DNS Lookup – Lookup the DNS records for a website

Reverse IP Lookup – Find out websites that are hosted on an IP address

Permissions Required:
Internet – Needed for remote connections (ping, port scan etc)
Wifi Connections – Needed to analyse wifi connections
Network Connections – Needed to analyse non-wifi network connections
In-App Purchases – To upgrade to pro version to receive additional features

This app is highly configurable and in active development, so feature requests and bug reports are appreciated!

Portdorid user reviews :

Fairly good tool. Network scanning and port scanning could be better. I’d like if network scanning would not repeatedly scan and rather save a history of devices and mac addresses and open ports during the session with the option to rescan. I had some inconsistent results during repeated network scans.

  • Hey Merboo, appreciate the honesty. Please let me know if you’ve got any specifics on what could be better and I’ll try to improve it! android[at]stealthcopter.com. Thanks!
LAN scanner not showing all available devices in the network. Update 1: there are some devices that not responding to ICMP requests, but they are active in the LAN. Other app displays them correctly.

  • Hi Emin, I’d be interested to know what the devices (os/setup) are so that I can see if I can replicate the setup here and then hopefully fix it. If possible please email me with more information at android[at]stealthcopter.com
ill buy it – if it gets a dark theme at some point. also it would be kool to have a full network tools package that that pkt capture from both apps and any live hotspots the phone might be makeing… perhaps – either or could be an option… food for thought.

  • Hi Bradley, dark theme is out now! Please let me know what you think :) It’s not possible to do packet capture without root or setting up a VPN. Thanks for the ideas

Dont fully understand ports and how to use the app to make my phone more secure, however it seems all of its functions work very well. Just wish it was a little more noob friendly.. -_- excellent app tho..!!

Great app for network/port scanning. Has most the tools you need to diagnose network connectivity or to see the devices on your network. Highly recommended.

Really quick and useful network scanner with many other useful features! Comes in handy if you work with networks.

This app is so awesome there are no words, I can’t stop drooling. Great work! A+

Good Aps .Does not scan UDP port though, which I needed to know which port to set my vpn on…or is it available in pro version?

  • Not available yet, but I am looking to add it in a future release

one of the great network scanner apps

App works as advertised, with no unneeded permissions. It has an option to show manufacturer based on MAC addresses, but it doesn’t seem to be implemented. The first-run welcome splash screen pops up on every launch of the app, but that may just be a quirk of my device. I would like to see some more robust features in future updates (packet capture, or saving scanned addresses to a local database.) All in all, a nice lightweight utility that doesn’t invade my privacy.

Excellent pack of useful network utilities with a lot of configuration options. The best I found after testing a dozen. Thanks dev for creating it and please keep up the good work ! Quick question: Why such a ‘blurred’ icon ? :))
