NewsBlur user reviews :

I’m trying to like this app but when it keeps telling me there’s no stories and I have at minimum, 20 news feeds loaded, it’s hard. It’s an inconsistent reading experience. It either works or doesn’t. I don’t understand the story loading glitches. Would also like to pay month to month as an option instead of three months or 12.

This was my go-to RSS reader for years; loved cloud sync, and the interface was intuitive and functional. However, recently every feed I subscribe to stopped rendering correctly; black-on-black text, or paragraphs layered on top of each other, forced me to use the “View Original” button to do anything. Some of my other feeds just showed the headline and nothing else. I can’t recommend this until this issue is fixed; for now I’ve switched to PodcastRepublic to consume RSS blog feeds.

Have used this for years, so there is something that keeps me hooked. However, the account renewal settings are awful and not transparent.Renews you just when you view premium setting…what?Folder setup is not intuitive to change AFTER INITIAL ADD. Needs better support contact method for product.

I’ve been a user of NewsBlur ever since Google killed Google Reader, and have been mostly happy…until now. Several weeks ago, rendering in the app was broken, and now it’s only usable in dark mode. The developer does not seem to have a fix in sight, so for now I cannot recommend it to new users. As a paid subscriber, I expect more, and am extremely disappointed. Am actively seeking alternatives at this point.

When a story is marked read it gets darkened so much I cannot see it, no option to change or disable this. Also cannot set it to open on a feed or folder on launch. Settings and preferences felt very lacking. Not customizable enough. Just got annoyed using it within 15 mins and uninstalled.

Newsblur is an awesome RSS reader. I’ve been using it for years, and it continuously surprises me with great features. Just now, I discovered that I can trivially use the trainer feature to filter out marketing posts from an RSS feed so I can get only the engineering posts that I care about! (Cockroach labs) Great work, thanks a lot!

Whenever I open a story, images are downloaded and showing properly. Then, after a moment of time they suddenly disappear showing something like “pic not found thing”. I don’t know if this problem is related to a particular RSS feed, but its very annoying.

Absolutely the best RSS Reader out there. Period! The app’s Interface might be old but it works and works really really well. Plus a size of less than 5 MB for this app is absolutely bonkers. Try it and you won’t be disappointed.

This is great. You can read newsletters, twitter feeds, blogs etc. Someone here said that the search doesn’t work, but it does. The problem must be the filter, if you are on the unread posts view, search won’t find read posts.

great way to read a set of blogs that you choose. I’ve used it for years and it keeps getting better. find a blog you like paste in a link and it will find the feed and add it to the folders you want. Thanks.
