If you’re travelling with a child under 16 years of age it let’s you reserve seats for them in the emergency exit seats… which is something that’s not allowed by policy. Also, the way it resets information is atrocious… if you change apps to get some information, then you have to input everything again… great. Low-cost company, low-cost app, you’re better off not traveling than using their services.
Setring aside Ryanair policeis, the app itself is favourite airline app. I use it for pretty much everything, from booking, managing, checking in and keeping boarding passes. The app is easy to navigate and has all info I need, updated in real time with gate and flight info and never occurred to see random crashes.
Check in could be better. There were no help buttons for anyone who was checking in for the first time. My husband usually checks us in, but I had to do it this time and I had no idea what the “Document Number” was. After adding passport details it takes you to the luggage page. It does NOT say “Would you like to add additional luggage?” I was convinced I had already paid for my luggage. Now I’m stressed that I’ll have to pay €100’s extra for luggage I thought I was already paid for!
Update 2024.06.24: Online visa verification is widely advertised but never works. 3 flights tested and it fails each time. Everyone still queuing for visa check at the airport unnecessarily. Original: Mostly works as expected. But why on earth does it require live internet connection to display saved information like boarding passes? Guess what: many airports block 4g and don’t have working wifi. This issue causes great and unnecessary stress. The booking process is smooth.
Say what you want about the Ryanair flights terms and conditions, or about their business model, but the app is very good. I was able to book an emergency flight and pay it quickly with Google Pay when I was in the need. It was the total opposite of the BA app, which thrive in clunkyness and unresponsiveness.
Assigned a gate that the airport hadn’t assigned yet. On departing flight assigned a gate, said gate had closed and plane had left… and the airport hadn’t assigned a gate yet. 2 hour delay and didn’t update estimated departure/arrival time etc. Useful for early check in, but don’t rely on the app for accurate travel information when you get to the airport
Pay attention to the details otherwise your flight will become as expensive as a first class flight. One example of the hidden fees which is not mentioned in a clear way is the 55 € extra per person if you don’t check-in before two hours of your flight. Please make it clear in your app
It’s faster, works perfectly and now with login! Edit 2024, small improvement: don’t send the boarding tickets to the “past trips” immediately after the boarding time has passed… Otherwise, in a 2 way trip, a small 1h delay on flight will bring the return trip to the top. Allow some 12h delay or so, or depending on next flight time.
How do I disable advertising notifications? There’s nowhere to do that! I can turn off notifications completely in settings but that means missing out on vital flight changes without having to check manually. Let me turn off the garbage I don’t need to see
Check-in is flawless but if anything happens toy flight I’m not informed even if notification are enabled, for example my flight was delayed but the app still showed the origami time yet at the airport it was showing the delayed time, also it has issues telling the correct gate.
