Sleepa Relaxing sounds user reviews :
I’ve been using this app for YEARS but the last few months have been awful. It “glitches” in the middle of the night, waking me up obviously. And it randomly stops to play BLARING ads (also in the middle of the night when I’m dead asleep). Kinda defeats the purpose of an app that’s supposed to HELP YOU SLEEP. Looking for a new one ASAP. Bummed because it’s been my favorite for a long time.

Being able to mix sounds to include brown noise (which helped block out lower frequencies) and modify each sound’s volume was a necessity. This app has by far the best sound selection and interface compared to any other app I’ve found. In fact, I use it so much that I thought “I’d like to support the developers as well as remove the OBNOXIOUS ads” and my only option is a MONTHLY subscription? Absolutely unnecessary
The app works well and has some great sounds you can mix together at whatever volumes you like but it’s advertisements are over the top. Pressing play or pause will start an add. Adjusting volume levels will start an ad. Right before bed, in the middle of the night, or first thing in the morning when I go to adjust the sound or pause/play it blasts a noisy add right in my face. Very counterintuitive to the concept of a relaxing sleep aid. I’ve considered trying different apps purely due to this.
It’s basically become adware since I originally gave the app 5 stars. It’s a shame because the customization options are still top notch but it serves ads nonstop and theyre all awful, intrusive and loud. I dont want my eardrums blown out when I’m about to go to bed, I just want rain sounds god dammit! How hard can that be? If it required a single time purchase that’d be preferable, but with a monthly pay model with such steep prices you’re better off using something else, with less ads.
Whose idea was it to play an ad the second you do ANYTHING in this app? Do you people not realize how customers are using this thing? Playing an obnoxious ad at full mfing volume the second you touch the app once the sound is already playing, has to be the WORST move you could have done. Uninstalling, and finding an alternative. Used to be great though, other than crashing now and then.
EDIT: I’ve realized the newer layout allows for editing & saving favorites. // Changing sound volumes of your favorites no longer offer you a chance to save as a new mix, which is crucial because the adjusted volumes do not automatically save. Timers aren’t consistent—a combination of adding/removing sounds and changing the times often seem to confuse the app: the result … sounds stop before timer ends. A single ad may require three exits just to end it completely.
The app actually works very very well the reason why I gave two stars is because after you’ve been struggling to try and get and decide to turn this app on at 1 a.m. in the morning and turn the timer on it makes you watch an ad for about 1 minutes which is the worst thing you can do for trying to get to
Love the sounds and the ability to quiet them to personal levels. I think the sleep timer and alarm are quite useful. I do, however, find it kind of odd that the same company has two almost identical apps. That bothers me most. Also, the paid version is really expensive for the little you’re actually upgrading. If it were a cheap, one time fee, it would be more used, but high pricing like what it is is bound to make you lose some coustomers.
