FAQ
Q1: I used WinZip to protect a folder of files with a password, but the list of files can still be viewed. Why?
A1: Even though the files or folder is encrypted, the file names can still be viewed (but not the file content). For this reason, we recommend that you avoid using confidential information in file or folder names. For example, avoid using account numbers or ID numbers (such as a social insurance number) in file or folder names.

Q2: I am using WinZip to compress JPEGs, but the size didn’t change much. Why?
A2: In order to compress your photos as much as possible, without any loss of photo quality, in the app Settings, choose Zipx (Best Method). This compression method examines each file and selects the compression option most likely to supply the best compression results.

Edit: The app seems to be working normally for me now. Thanks for fixing the bug, Winzip developers! My original review: Good app for security purposes, as far as password protecting my files goes. It was working fine until I upgraded my phone to Android 12, now the app crashes whenever I try to open it (the Android OS came up with a message saying the app was crashing because of a bug) so I can’t access my password protected files, fortunately I’ve found a temporary workaround for this problem.

I can’t understand what everyone is complaining about. This app worked great. I’ve used WinZip for years and yes they always find a way to get paid. But really, is $2 going to break you when you’re using your $800 phone? I extracted multiple zip files them re-uploaded them to my G-drive no problems. Also used the extractor to put files directly into folders. I’m only giving it 4 stars because it does occasionally glitch when opening zip files. Had to reboot a couple of times. Otherwise great app
