20 Minutes Till Dawn user reviews :

really fun! it took me a couple of weeks of playing casually to get all the achievements, so it doesnt take too long to complete, but its not too short either. picking talents and figuring out what works best with each character and weapon is quite fun, and i would love to see more talent and synergy options. one thing that kind of bothers me is the tree hitboxes, its really hard to tell if youre going to get hit or not when going behind the tree and it can be very frustrating.

Edit: Issue was corrected, if not perfectly, but it makes this game much more accessible to people that can’t commit a solid 20 minutes. (original) Great idea. Love the game play. However, everytime an ad plays or if I have to shut off my phone screen or change applications when I come back I can’t select anything. I’ve had 4 runs ended when I was doing very well because I had to close the app due to this issue.

i don’t think the devs understand how important it is to let players fine-tune the controls in a game like this. floating controls suck. give an option for fixed directional controls. also, let us change the size and deadzone. it’s frustrating when you’re at the final couple of minutes and get killed because the game thought you wanted to go the opposite direction. so much potential here lost to clunky controls.

I really liked the demo on the pc but atm i find the controls impossible. If you have a controller I’m sure its fine? At first it wasn’t clear what the controls were and seemed random if you were shooting or moving. I worked out how i think it is supposed to work but it’s still wildly inconsistent and difficult to manage. Hopefully it’ll get better.

Fun, pretty and well built game so far. Quick issue, if you refuse to get a free upgrade at the start of a run, you will press X and immeadiatly fire your gun, making impossible to get the pacifist and reckless achievements if you do so. On that note, Abby’s skill button is only half visible at the very edge of the screen. Lastly, if its a bug, what is that bullet choosing screen that pops up for a frame when you start a run?

Game is absolutely amazing. Got it on PC(cause it’s better and more up-to-date having more skill trees and characters) and it’s incredibly addicting and fun. For the app tho, i have an old Motorola so it’s not the best. But even on my PC it lags sometimes, i can’t imagine how many crashes or how much lagging would happen on a phone. Game is perfect. Just might be a bit much for phones.

Really fun game and I love the art style, and I like that the ads are optional and don’t feel necessary to progress. Gameplay loop is fun, if a bit repetitive. Still better quality than most mobile games of this genre though. Suggestions: I’d like if there was an option to switch the movement/shooting sides. Also, you should be able to read upgrade descriptions on the pause screen instead of just viewing the icon.

Saw a YouTuber play it, looked like fun. The assumption was correct. This game has more replay value than any other game on the appstore (except candy crush for old people), it doesn’t have intrusive ads that play between runs either. Although it’s great, there are some things that take from the experience, the first and foremost being the controls, They. Are. A. Painful. It’s hard to tell whether you’re auto aim or if you’re aiming somewhere until you stop focusing on dodging. Else it’s great!

Watched this game develop on itch.io and it’s been a joy. An absolute blast to play, ads aren’t an issue, minimal to zero bugs, you can use ads as upgrade rerolls and such, replayability is great, ect. This is one of those games I’ll probably have on my phone for a long while. I’m excited to see where the team takes the game in the future! Keep up the great work!

Definitely a game with a lot of potential, especially room for imporvments such as a control option, optimization, characters weapons, skills/passives, maps, modes, and skins, though I assume you have planned on some things regarding what i said already. Speaking of modes, would like to see a endless wave-based mode. Definitely a lot of potential.
