What is a normal heart rate or heartbeat?
According to American Heart Association (AHA) and the Mayo Clinic, a normal resting heart beat ranges from 60 to 100 beats per minute (BPM). Heart rate can be affected by stress, anxiety, depression, emotions, activity level, fitness level, body composition, and medication use. Knowing heart rate is important heart-health gauge and cardiovascular metric. Heart rate variability is important in measuring stress on your body.

Instant Heart Rate user reviews :
The app is great overall. It has some bugs such as the one where the measurement doesn’t want to start again after you just did one. Also, the ads seems to be the reason for this bug. They need to implement the adds better. An option to measure your heart rate for how much you want(without time limit) would be great.
I tried this after reading a very favourable report on it, but what a disappointment. It started brilliantly, although the readings seem lower than the other two I have. And then, after a week or so, it became a useless piece of junk, practically. It took a long while to get a reading – had to reboot it several times. Now, it doesn’t do anything at all. It turns on the flash, consuming battery, and not reading. The other two apps work fine. It was as though it tries to hook you (working fabulously in the beginning) then when it fails to convince you to fork up for a subscription, it stops working.
This has been one of my favorite apps for years but I’m not creating an account (now required) just to take my pulse. One reviewer pointed out they got rid of the pulse animation that syncs up with your heartbeat. That was how I would check to make sure the app is accurate on a certain phone! I would verify that it’s gone… But that would require creating a login.
I had serious doubt about these kind of Mobile apps which claim to measure your pulse rate or blood pressure. I experimentally downloaded this app and compared the reading with actual pulse oximeter. Surprisingly I’ve found that this app is actually showing accurate readings. There are a lot of bugs in the app that needs to be fixed but still I’m giving it 5 star because of its accuracy!
