Press Review
A heavy dollop of Silent Hill, it’s a horror game unlike anything else I’ve played.
Adam Smith, Rock, Paper, Shotgun

Every facet of Detention moves in one harmonious lockstep towards an unavoidable tragedy, drowning out the world around you.
Destiny Maddox, Rely On Horror

The art direction, atmosphere, and audio design are all very well done. It has a polish you don’t often see in adventures by small teams.

Detention user reviews :

It starts off good. Scary, and decent albeit easy puzzles. My other gripes in the beginning are it’s easy to avoid enemies, there aren’t enough of them, and the lack of enemy variety. After a certain point, the game just becomes an interactive movie with a few mostly weak puzzles thrown in. If you aren’t into the story at this point, it’s tedious. The story is, however, creatively and artistically expressed in many details. It’s a good game if you enjoy stories over gameplay.

Intriguing and intense! Starts off as a seemingly paranormal horror that turns into something more psychological. Amazing graphics and creative use of scenes and storylines. I appreciated the Tawainese history and spiritual side. Puzzles are a mix of straightforward to complex. It’s a very heavy game (Maybe borderline depressing to some) I finished with the true ending and it was emotional. The breath-holding double tap parts are inconsistent and awkward, but that’s all. Overall, well done!

i payed for the full verion of this game & once i get away from the monster lady for the very first time it says i have to pay for the full game when i already did. someone needs to fix that a.s.a.p i haven’t been able to play the full version since i payed for it so please do something now.

This game is really amazing. The graphics and everything is just wow. There is one problem, though. I wasn’t able to finish the game due to the fact that at a certain point, it keeps on crashing over and over again. It won’t let me continue it even though I didn’t reach the part where I have to buy the full version. Please fix this problem.

A true work of art, at first its a bit scary then its a visual novel. It made me cry, with the music, the visuals. I hope they keep creating more games.

Its an AMAZING game! the creepy vibe and aesthetic is just breathtaking……but the one thing that is bugging me is that the Demo is so short like i finished it in 20 minutes.I mean we used a huge amount of data in our phones for downloading it and did’nt feel the satisfaction we wanted for a Demo……the other Demos in games is like much longer and captures the suspenful experience. ITS SO UNFAIR!!! We also use money for Datas’ you know

I played a bit reach the start of the spooky parts but I cant play anymore due to excessive lag, but it’s really good story so far and graphics are nice, the audio itself is pretty chilling and really creates atmosphere.

Saw this game on a playthrough ages ago and it still stuck to me till now. It took thriller games to a whole new level. I really love the graphics, mechanics and story (especially the story). Hopefully the developers continue developing games.

Best game I ever played so far…story line makes u cry at the last.every one has to play this game even once in their lifetime…this is more than just a game… I literally cried at the end.
