Google Play Books user reviews :

Awesome Reader This is the best app for ebooks hands down. Syncing between devices, definitions of words and text size/line height are the best features. Pretty decent for PDFs too and you can even upload epubs from other services.

Cool but problems with PDFs on small screens No possibility to read PDFs in landscape mode. When reading on phone, letters are too small in portrait mode, even when zooming to make text lines occupy full width of screen (though reading books on phone maybe a bad idea, but I want to do it sometimes). Reading of non-fixed layout books such as .epub is ok, page flipping is cool. For fixed layout PDFs I’d prefer landscape mode and continuous vertical scrolling of pages, like in many PDF readers.

Used to be great… …but now comes up with a grey screen when I open it and hastily force close. That means it loses the 4* I gave when it actually worked…

needs improvement I love the simplicity of this app. Just the right amount of settings, and the sync feature generally works well. I do however miss the option to edit book meta data, either in the app or in Play. I uploaded a book by “King, Stephen” and Play can’t figure out it’s the same as “Stephen King”. Thanks for the added copy feature, that was still missing. Some more sorting options would also be nice.

Best reader app there is. Now that you can add your own books, there is no reason to use anything else. The ui could use some tweaking, ie sort by title, author, series, etc.

Lack of usability Why cannot I rotate screen to horisontal when I’m reading scanned page books?

A few more tweaks. Being able to add your own books that sync across devices is excellent. I can start reading on my Nexus 7 and then pick up exactly where I left off on my phone and see any notes made in the book on my PC. An excellent job, although work is needed. I can’t upload a few of my books in PDF format as they are over the 50MB limit. Would be nice if the size limit was upped to 100MB as some of my PDF books have high detail pictures.
