Life Color Nonogram – Reveal a hidden picture

[Game] Life Color Nonogram

Life Color NonogramNonograms, also known as Paint by Numbers, Picross, Griddlers, Pic-a-Pix, Hanjie, and various other names, are picture Logic puzzle in which cells in a grid must be colored or left blank according to numbers at the side of the grid to reveal a hidden picture.

Rule
In Nonogram, the numbers are a form of discrete tomography that measures how many unbroken lines of filled-in squares there are in any given row or column. For example, a clue of “4 8 3” would mean there are sets of four, eight, and three filled squares, in that order, with at least one blank square between successive sets.

Strategy
Simpler puzzles can usually be solved by a reasoning on a single row only (or a single column) at each given time, to determine as many boxes and spaces on that row as possible. Then trying another row (or column), until there are no rows that contain undetermined cells.

Some more difficult puzzles may also require several types of “what if?” reasoning that include more than one row (or column). This works on searching for contradictions: When a cell cannot be a box, because some other cell would produce an error, it will definitely be a space. And vice versa. Advanced solvers are sometimes able to search even deeper than into the first “what if?” reasoning. It takes, however, a lot of time to get some progress.

If you like to solve classic logic puzzles such as sudoku, minesweeper, pixel art or different math games, you will love Nonogram.

Life Color Nonogram user reviews :

I like the controls and variety of puzzles. Some puzzles (turtle and persimmon, for example) have non-unique solutions. Occasional pop-out ads in the middle of the levels are *incredibly* annoying, though the ones between levels are no big deal. *Edit*: To give the devs the credit they’re due, of the 251 puzzles I’ve completed so far (out of 1303 total), turtle and persimmon are the only puzzles that I’ve found to have nonunique solutions. I’ve e-mailed them with details and suggested fixes.

  • Hi Cameron, all levels are solvable with normal mode. The ads popup in the middle of the level is a bug that we’re investigating. Thank you for the feedback.

It was going great for a while, and then it started opening ads in chrome WHILE I was playing the level without my clicking the ad at the bottom of the screen. This started just this week, and I hate it. Ads between levels I expect, ads at the bottom are fine, and if a game it’s good I’ll pay to turn those off, but pop ups interrupting while I play? Absolutely not. Tempted to uninstall. Edit: Developer says this is a bug, and when it’s corrected I’m happy to update my review.

  • Hi Krys, Thank you for playing game and let a review. This must be a bug or something else, we’re investigating it. We never show ads during the level or without user’s action.

Excellent gameplay UI/UX, good puzzles, non-intrusive ads. 20×20 and larger are difficult to navigate on a 415ppi screen (Pixel 5a) without using zoom; tolerable with a stylus. Minor grammatical errors and capitalisation mistakes in animal descriptions (I have a collection of screenshots documenting them all: 25 so far, just in the latest update!). Overall a fantastic nonogram app though, would gladly pay for it.

  • Hi Koitsu, thank you for playing and supporting our game. We’ll check the issue and hopefully fix it in the next release.

The one thing keeping this from 5 stars for me is the option to rid of the arrow tools (I don’t use them) and the icons right under the board. I always hit those because I like to do the puzzle with finger directly on it and it drags below the puzzle barely, and it resets what I was doing. But the pics are gorgeous! I hope this gets fixed.

  • Hi Nikki, Thank you for playing our game and your feedback. In the 1.8.1 version, you can hide the arrow buttons with the in game setting (The button on the left most with the heart row). We’ll improve this in the 1.8.3 version as the 1.8.2 is already releasing. Thank you again and stay tune.
