Shade Launcher – Place your apps in categories to quickly find them

[App] Shade Launcher

Shade LauncherShade Launcher : This is the launcher that presents what, in my opinion, a home screen should be.
It has only features that matter yet lacks nothing essential.

Adaptive Icon Packs
Choose from many popular icon packs to customize your home screen. Even icon packs with adaptive icons are supported.

Smart Unread
The widget on the first page will show the most important notification on your phone.
When music is playing, control it by tapping the widget. Tap once to pause, twice to skip, three times to rewind.

Feed Overlay
Swipe right to open a news feed selected in the settings. Any app can implement a feed from now on.
To use the Google App, you need Rootless Pixel Bridge v3 or newer from my GitHub: amirzaidi.github.io/bridge.html

Themes
When you get bored of the default Android themes, there are many custom launcher themes to choose from in the settings menu. All of them have their own distinct style and feeling.

Grid Division
Choose if you want 4, 5 or 6 columns on your home screen. Or let the launcher decide using your phone’s size.

Shortcuts
Hold an app icon to show quick shortcuts that immediately jump into the app.

Categories
Place your apps in categories to quickly find them. Apps can be hidden by placing them in the Hidden category.

Plugins
Shade will launch a unified open source plugin system that will let other developers create their own additions. They can, for example, create their own weather widget, or add custom shortcuts for applications.

QuickSwitch Support
Rooted users on Android 9.0 can use the QuickSwitch module to enable integration with the new recents look.

Any phone that runs Android 5.0 or higher is supported.
There is no unexpected fee, nor any advertisements. No data is collected.

Shade Launcher user reviews :

I can’t believe some of these bad reviews, I seriously nearly passed on this awesome launcher because there are others with better ratings so I’m glad I decided to give it a try anyways. I used buzz launcher for years but it kept going downhill sadly. Switched to Evie, love it but the app drawer isn’t what I need, jina helped but it’s ugly and clumsy, but I think I’ve reached the last stop with this one! Beautiful design, all the features I need, great app drawer! Everything I’m looking for

This launcher is just awesome! there is just two problems, I think it is just a little bit laggy but I think you can fix this. can you add an option to close favorite place please? my favorite theme is sunrise in this launcher. this launcher is something like half pixel launcher and half Trebuchet launcher. just please make this more smoof. I can easily feel fps drops while using.

Shows promise. The UI animations and performance is smooth, the theming is minimal but really nice, the only problem I’ve noticed is that when I use Shade to set icon shapes – some icons are not displaying correctly and round icons are slightly cropped. I’m hopeful the dev keeps working on this launcher as it’s different from other launchers.

I have the solution for circle icons, just install “pixel pie icons” from play store and all your icons will be rounded, leave all the launcher icon shape on default, and change to “pixel pie icons” in the icon pack option, it is just like Google now icons
