Surfline is my go-to for swell forecasts and surf conditions. I also love having access to all the HD cams so I can check multiple spots before ever getting in my car. I don’t even think about going for a surf without checking Surfline first! – Keala Kennelly
I’ve relied on Surfline’s forecasts on tour for years, and now I count on Surfline Premium to score good waves here at home. – Owen Wright
Surfline user reviews :
I used this app for diving. Very important feature has been removed from the new interface design, where you could see multiple swell directions, their height and period. Instead, you now get their combined approximation which is far from ideal. On the approximation you could see next to no swell, but at the same time there could be a high-energy wave present that would affect water visibility and would not show on approximation. Please bring this functionality back!
- That very important feature is back! Stoked to be encouraging you to update your app to the latest version, where you will find the swell graph has returned by popular demand. Any continued feedback? I recommend writing to support[at]surfline.com where you’ll reach one of our dedicated support staff. You can ask for me by name, if you like! – James.
Used this app many years now. *Don’t download or update! The new app is as bad as closeout sets on your head, I can’t find the biweekly videos on my local breaks around venice, the wind charts are worse. Also Now the rotation is messed up on my note 10 and quickly goes back to vertical with the slightest movement after I rotate to horizontal. Update… Now the weekly and weekend forcasts don’t show up on any spots as they did before and I can’t even find the cast in the news or video sections.
Good app. Could use a widget so you can get an idea of upcoming swell without having to open and poke around in the app. It would also be nice to have a sorting option for your locations. I like having my home breaks and certain focal points/indicators at the top of the list when I’m at home but when I travel up the coast, it would simplify my search if my favorited breaks could be listed north-south (or vice versa) like they are on the webpage.
Fantastic app, but extremely better on iOS. The android version is so much worse and has practically half of the useful features as it’s iOS counterpart. I pay for surf line premium, which I love, but on android you don’t get specific spot reports, no ideal conditions information, no cam rewind, no pinch zoom in, and more missing features. It’s a shame how much worse an app can be from one platform to another.
I have been a premium member for over 10 years. The mobile app has improved tremendously over the years (especially for android.) My issue is with the new beta update. The screen rotation is strangely sensitive and rotates vertical unless the phone is totally horizontal and almost perpendicular to the ground. Also the spots with multiple cams that can be switched back and forth are gone for some reason as well. Overall still the best forecasting app but the new beta version needs more work.
I have the paid version and it’s good but the settings for e.g. the metric system don’t carry over to other areas. It is only applied to the wave height, but none of the swell or tide heights, which doesn’t make for a great user experience. Would be great if you got this fixed!
