LingQ user reviews :

It’s great, but it has some issues that make it a questionable app to invest in. For instance, I had multiple errors when trying to sign up from the app. It took multiple tries to be able to successfully sign up & in. EDIT: the developer seems to have replied to the wrong comment? I mentioned nothing about Memrise. EDIT2: Why did the ability to play the audio while in sentence mode disappear?! This was the most useful feature for me.

  • Sorry for my mistake. I have escalated this to our Q&A team for investigation. Could you send us an email to support@lingq.com so we can have a direct contact line with you?

I’ve been using the app for almost a year now learning German and I must say: this is hands-down the best app for massive input through reading, learning vocabulary, understanding grammar and any other relevant aspect of learning a language. My advice: don’t be limited by default content but actively try finding content that’s interesting for you! Bear in mind that you can also import YouTube videos (with subtitles in your target language) or even import books on subjects that interest you most!

  • Thanks for your superb review! We couldn’t agree more. That’s also excellent advice. There’s too much interesting content available online to be bored with what we study. Keep up the great work, and tell your friends!

I can confidently say that the new design is going to make the app more memorable and interesting, especially for newer learners. I myself will make an effort to use it for my German study more often now that it’s much more forgiving on the eyes. Props to the designers and to Steve for promoting input-based language learning. One thing I would suggest, if I may, is a lifetime subscription plan, if possible.

  • We offer lifetime membership for a single language. Email me at tiagor@lingq.com for more information.

Amazing app! First language learning app that actually works. After just a few days I noticed my ability in Spanish improving! I would recommend this to everyone I know learning languages. I am very glad I found it!

Great language learning app which makes it easy to learn by reading and listening. Perfect if you already know a little and want to expand your vocabulary.

I’m in love, this app is a very good tool to increase your vocabulary and improve your listening and reading.

I absolutely love what app is doing for my language learning!

i love this app so much !

I really like this app so far and I’ve learned far more french than I thought in just a week or 2 of studying. However, there’s this really irritating bug that every so often will change the French pronunciation into an English pronunciation of the french word I want to know. It’s very inconvenient and I have to restart the app every time this happens so that it will reset and change back to the the french automated pronounication instead of the weird English one. Anyway I can fix this??

  • That does seem strange. Can you confirm that Google text to speech is the default text to speech engine on your device. You can do this in your device settings. It should work better if this is the case. If you are still having trouble, please report the issue along with your device type and os version to support at lingq dot com.

This app is pretty good, the latest version of this is pretty attractive to learners that are visual too.

Very good app. My only suggestion is that japanese should be written with kanji, to better teach the language.
