The reader is not good. I read manga in landscape mode and this app is not good at it. Scrolling is terrible. If you lift your finger off the screen while scrolling, you cannot tap the screen to stop the scrolling, you have to wait until it finishes. This does not happen in the main menu though which is a shame the most important part of the app cannot do basic scrolling.

It’s better than the original change, but still not as good as it was. Also… Seems to be draining the battery much faster than usual lately. And really hate how the comics on sale is gone due to not being able to buy through the app. It had to have totally destroyed comic sales. Amazons set up is terrible for it. This whole change has been a huge downgrade in every way and it’s frustrating every single day.

The UI does not let you easily select a book, read the details on it and then jump back to a list. Lists not paginated. Instead, when you get to some arbitrary point, you have to push a button to load more on the list. If you click through to read the book details, it will jump you all the way to back to the top of the list, causing you to lose your place. If the whole point of the new Comixology update was to make the code base more like the Kindle app, then why not use the same UI as Kindle?

Very buggy experience since I started reusing it. Constantly crashes while reading longer books and reopens to a page that I read many pages back. Also often when I rotate the screen for a different viewing ratio, it returns to the top of the current page. Both bugs are frustrating and disrupt the reading experience.

Most of the 1 and 2 star reviews list my grievances more than adequately. I really love that Comixology/Amazon has chosen to not respond to any of those valid complaints with anything in the way of reply or an app update that truly addresses the extreme difficulties users have had to face. Lifetime comic collector and one time great fan of this app struggling to hold on.
