Apple Music user reviews :

I am a tech geek and have been for over 20 years. I am not brand loyal, I enjoy products and software, etc that work well and are fun and/or useful. I have subscriptions to both Apple Music and YT Music. Apple Music has consistently done a great job offering a variety of music and other media since the early days of itunes. I love their organization, I love the little touches such as the smooth transition between songs, and I prefer their playlists and radio stations over the competition.

Inconsistent volume pretty much ruins all of my playlists. A song will finish playing and the next song will be like half the volume. Apparently there is a fix for this on iPhone, but they haven’t added it to the Android app just yet. This should be a priority, but it’s just crickets from Apple. I think this is finally what’s gonna get me to switch to another streaming service.

Apple Music has a lot of faults. The playlists aren’t great, the controls are more obscure and complicated then they need to be, I often get loud and disturbing high pitched noises instead of the actual music, and the download feature straight up doesn’t work. The only reason I’ve stuck with Apple Music for so long is because the audio quality is fantastic and the best I’ve heard out of Spotify and Tidal. Despite this, I’m uninstalling and going back to Spotify. Apple isn’t worth the money.

The app is pretty good. It had most of the songs from my playlists on other apps. To give you an idea, my playlist has 56 songs, and Apple Music did not have 16 of them. Making a playlist was easy. However, sometimes the song randomly stops playing or restarts. I have not had to watch any ads so far.

Love the app, my only issue is when I’m done listening and exit the app it stays in the background and will start playing again on its own. I’ll be watching a YouTube video and Apple music will start playing over it. I’ll stop the song and it will do it again. I’ve even had times where I was laying down trying to sleep, had my phone sitting on nightstand charging and it just started playing. Scared the tar out of me lol. It does get annoying sometimes, but all in all I still love it

User interface is nice, but the app itself is pretty buggy. I wasn’t able to complete the subscribing process via phone number and had to do it on Mac instead. During a year or so of usage there were constant loading and downloading issues, regardless of the type of connection. The last straw was when the app decided to use cellular data for a large download, despite that being explicitly disabled inside the app. That caused unexpected charges and the support was utterly useless. Disappointed.

Great app overall, and top tier audio quality. One problem though is I’m struggling to find way to sort my Playlists, new music is always at the bottom of the list. Please help change this or have a custom sorting option, or add it if it’s not a feature already.
