The gameplay unfortunately is boring, since all of it is just to wait for specials to use. Other than that you don’t have actual control in the middle of combat. Some stats are straightforward(like attack and defence), others need further explanation(like tenacity and mastery), but there isn’t (or at least i didn’t find) a feature to explain them. Not even holding on the actual stat helps. The rest is ok, but the backbone of this game is flawed, with the player having little control.
I can see it being fun, but I think it’s absolutely necessary that the game has a graphics option to lower visual fidelity in favor of performance. Hopefully after a while they will add such a setting into the game. I appreciate the fairly well done original cutscenes using Mortal Kombat 11 character models and locations. It’s still early days but in my experience I do find that it’s prone to random crashes especially when entering in and out of tabs in the main menu
I’d give Mortal Kombat Onslaught a 3.5 if I could. The graphics and menus look great. The gameplay is unfortunately very generic but done very well, I personally was hoping it would be turn based and I could choose my actions. All in all I like it for what it is and will definitely continue playing. Update: There’s no music or voiceovers during cutscenes. Also the loading time before a battle begins is pretty long.
What can I say but WOW!! I’m old school and remember when the original MK first came out on the Master System. It was cool then but now it’s just pure gold. I can’t get over how smooth the graphics are. The storyboards are great. I would have preferred slightly bigger graphics on the store options, but the game is still worth 10/10 even 30 years later and just as addictive now as it was back then.
