Permissions Overview:
1. Calendar: FamCal needs this permission to read events from local calendars
2. Contacts: FamCal needs this permission to read contact from local device when you choose to import a contact
3. Location: FamCal needs this permission to get your location when you add an event with location info
4. Storage: FamCal needs this permission to read photos from Gallery when you choose to upload a photo to a memo or write photos to Gallery when you choose to download photos from memos

FamCal user reviews :

Good app to manage appointments and share notes and to do lists. The main downside is that not all family members get a notification that an appointment is coming up, even when they are included in the ‘Who’ and ‘Notify who’ sections. Only the device on which the appointment was made seems to get the notification.

update: I reached out to developer who recommended to delete the app and redownload. I did this and the birthday reminders now work. Thank you! (previous post) I like this app for sharing lists and the calendar with my spouse, but the birthday reminders no longer work which is frustrating.

the format for apple is more user-friendly. I have an android, and it doesn’t allow me to switch days while in calendar list mode and a few other things that would be easier for users with Android. I dislike that ap designers do this. They’ll make it more adaptable for Apple products and leave the Samsung users having to do more key strokes and navigation to get to where they need. It gets the job done. But it could be better, and they proved that on apple devices.

Great minimalist calendar sharing app. Works great except for following: Cons: – Takes some time to understand how to use it – memo comments cannot be edited or copied – No picture upload outside of memo – Unnecessary hyperlink in memo that cannot be changed – Cannot duplicate calendar events – Bug with repeated events until specified date (happens when it’s across multiple months). Last event will not be in calendar.
