STORY

Earth is gone.
Only some survived.
Everyone who could, fled the planet and settled in the asteroid belt.
Years passed, factions formed, WAR ensued over scarce resources and precious knowledge.
You are a young engineer of the Node Collective, lost deep inside enemy territory. Your mothership was on a secret mission on the far side of the Triterian Empire, but you weren’t senior enough to know its goal and purpose. So here you are – in a tiny, badly damaged shuttle – alone amidst the burning remains of what used to be the pride of your crew – with nothing but the cold voice of your computer to keep you company.

CONTROLS

Touch and hold anywhere on the screen to fire your thrusters and get your ship to move.
Let go and you’ll continue to drift forever on.
Your velocity is influenced by all gravitational forces in the area. Don’t fight against gravity. Learn to use it to your advantage! Play with it! Dance!

New Orbit user reviews :

Enjoyable in pretty much every way (decent writing and voice acting, challenging but understandable gameplay, simple but not dumbed down UI, etc) but very short. So $1 is about right, sadly. Definitely wish there was an ep2

Unfortunately they didn’t realeased the second one about 8 or 7 years ago I’m very glad this game still existed because I used to play this game when I was 10 or 12 years old.

If the overall concept had been implemented throughout the game and given a free roam option (the game shows many capabilities such as mining, gathering resources adding modules to the ship and even other ships but this lasts only minutes) it would have been much better. Overall the game feels like a beta or a test of concept. I honestly thought I was going through a tutorial and before I knew it the game was beaten. Don’t waste your money.

I’ve been looking for an app that simulates orbits, and this is the one and only app to do it and do it well. And there’s an story and challenges to enjoy in addition to the simulation! I’m disappointed episode 2 wasn’t funded, but I’m holding onto hope that it will be created eventually. :) If you do happen to work on it again, I hope you’ll add the ability to change inclination along with the 3D rendering and make it easier to get into circular orbits.

I like this game very much because the story is well planned, very creative, you can imagine actually being there, lost in outer space. Furthermore, the conditions in space are well overthought and brought into action, Newton’s axiomes well worked in. As impressive as realistic is the rise of the gravity, the nearer you approach an asteroid. Must have required not only programmer’s skill, but also physics’ knowledge. Very challenging, great fun, awesome game! Looking forward to next game of you, Markus!

Its very fun and the story line is awesome, but I do wish it had more levels. I hope the developer will continue the story. overall it is very fun

This game has awesome controls. I downloaded it before flight and beat the game halfway through flight. Overall took me 1 hour to beat. 5 stars when game is a bit longer..

Fun little game. The orbit simulation doesn’t seem quite numerically stable, and some of the challenge difficulty ramps up too quick.

I like the game, and I like the storytelling method. But just when I had the controls figured out, I was out of storyline. I expected more, hopefully episode2 will follow. Need more, I’ve completed the challenges multiple times and played through the story again as well. There should be a way to take mines out, perhaps by catching, redirecting, and releasing debris.

This game is an unfinished masterpiece. I nearly cried when I saw the kickstarter failed and episode 2 was abandoned. Seriously, finish ep2 and charge more upfront to recoup your costs. This is a business risk that will pay off.

It’s a great little game. Gameplay is outstanding as are the graphics and story. Downside, still waiting on the next episode.
