I think it’s good, yes there is monetization, but what game doesn’t have that now? Just don’t buy it. I am finding progression pretty easy right now, as in I have not hit a pay wall. It’s a pretty strategic game, I really enjoy the card collecting aspect to level up different units. I would like to see more units/races added in the future, but I am sure development has plans.
It is what it’s supposed to be, an awesome game. It’s fun, a little graphic heavy, hey I dig it, and not completely pay to win. Day 1 baby! Edit: Day 2. Hit level 11 yesterday; instantly hit with the hard pay-wall. All top competitors have dumped cash, upwards of $30.00. Doesn’t sound like a lot until you consider it’s a mobile game. And physical miniatures? It’s one or the other, and if prices don’t start really coming down for plastic I have to put together and paint, I’m about done. Not sorry
I am impressed with this game! This is both the best Warhammer game on Mobile, as well as the best turn-based tactics game that I have played on Mobile. In particular, I was really impressed with the variety of units. Each unit feels different and so far they unit that I have unlocked feels like it has a role to play on some team composition. Additionally, the maps work really well for a Portrait game (and many maps scroll to accommodate larger battles than would fit on a single screen).
Initial first 2hrs in, this sort of takes me back to the Chaosgate game in the 90’s. So it reminds me of that with a new flair in a more compact gameplay way but with updated visuals and greater units. Though it doesn’t maintain the visual grit of 40k but more towards a plastic Legos end of the scale. (Not bad just easier on the eyes). The detail is still very good quality. The usage of equipment from the codexes and books shows they did good research or knew very well of the universe.
Game is alot of fun. Good use of tactics combat. Some things need to change, mainly cooldown/cost of missions. To much energy per mission and to slow of a recharge for events and energy. Cutting regen time down on events by half if not more would be necessary if I was going to spend anymore then maybe 30min a day on it. Also more than one (very small) energy refill by ad would be welcomed.
