  FolderSync enables simple sync to cloud based storage to and from local folders on the device SD cards.

It support a wide range of different cloud providers and file protocols, and support for more platforms are added continuously. Root file access supported on rooted devices.

Effortlessly sync your files. Backup your music, pictures and other important files from the phone to your cloud storage or the other way around. It has never been easier. Automation support using Tasker and similar programs enables fine grained control of your syncs.

FolderSync contains a full file manager, that enables you to manage your files locally and in the cloud. Copy, move and delete your files in your cloud/remote accounts. Support for creation/deletion of buckets in Amazon S3. Upload and download files from the phone. It’s all supported.

Permissions

ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION
Optional permission that can be granted if Foldersync should detect SSID name on Android 9 or newer.

ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
Needed to determine current network state

ACCESS_WIFI_STATE
Needed to access info about the current WiFi state (SSID etc.)

CHANGE_NETWORK_STATE/CHANGE_WIFI_STATE
These two are needed to be allowed to turn WiFi on and off

CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE
Needed to autodiscover WebDAV, SMB, FTP and SFTP servers using Bonjour/UPNP protocol

INTERNET
Needed to access the internet connection to send and retrieve files

READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE/WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
Needed to read and write files from and to SD card

RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED
Needed to automatically start after reboot of device, so scheduled syncs will still run

WAKE_LOCK
Needed to keep the device running during a sync, so it doesn’t enter sleep mode

I grabbed the free version to check syncing from Onedrive to local for my Obsidian mobile app. It works amazingly well, even with realtime sync if you need it. It has a multitude of options giving you great control over how you want to sync, what filters to apply, etc. Yes, the ads are annoying, but devs need to earn money for their hard work! I always buy these apps once I’m happy with them, which is exactly what I’ve done here. Great work!

amazing app that seems to have no competition for genuine synchronization of folders locally and remotely. would recommend highly did everything I need to do to do on the free version but still paid them because it’s such a terrific app great customer service and communication. glad to support companies like this that are making truly useful powerful and unique apps

After many years of usage, I’ve had to downgrade the rating of this app. In the last few android versions (now on Android 12), my scheduled daily sync seems to stop working after a few weeks. I’m not sure the cause – I suspect either updates to the app from Play store; restarting my mobile; or some aggressive Android app management. Unfortunately I can no longer rely on this app to do my daily syncing, as I receive no notification if my daily sync schedule has stopped. Real shame!

Works great with one exception. If it has a permissions error, it pauses for several seconds turning what would be a 1 minute sync into one requiring several days.

Syncs a directory on your phone with a cloud storage. Simple as that! Exactly what I was looking for to backup my pics and documents.

Great app! However I have one little suggestion. I am using the instant sync feature to move my photos to my personal cloud and then it is set to delete the copy from my phone. Everything is working perfectly…except…it does it too fast! Sometimes I take a pic to send to someone but before I can send it…it’s gone! Is there a way to hold off 30 seconds or so before doing the instant sync?

A very good SMB1 backup app. Configuration is not easy to understand while not intuitive. And has two major cons for me: I can not see any progress in action, when I try to sync and nothing happened, the play symbol / “Sync” appears after a few minutes again, but no info if ok or not. So I have to tick on the minuscular calender symbol with the last sync date and time, but can almost never hit it, only after 5-10 tries, because it is soo damn small. And when I create a new sync pair, I expect to select first the source and second the target, not invers. That’s not logic. Would be nice to have a sound selection or app-fixed loud beep for information when sync is over. And a “Compare before sync” whith viewable logfile would be nice.

Perfect app. Does what it has to. Tested with Dropbox and Google drive.
